Blood 11: THE RING

I had been woken in the early hours of the morning by a painful realization, it's over.

Tristan broke my heart.

He left me.

Nakahiga lang ako sa kama ko habang pinipilit kong kalimutan ang lahat ng nangyari kahapon. Gusto kong mawala sa isipan ko ang tungkol doon. Gusto kong kalimutan ang lahat tungkol sa aming dalawa. Pero kahit anong gawin ko, nararamdaman ko pa rin ang sakit nito. Para bang may malaking butas sa dibdib ko na hindi ko alam kung kailan ito maghihilom.

Maghihilom nga ba ito? O mananatili na lang ito sa puso ko? My chest felt hollow with misery. I was a massive welt of pain as I tried to understand why it ended so soon.

Pinikit ko ulit ang mga mata ko at huminga nang malalim. I was too tired to know the answers yet.

"Good morning, Mr. Crimson!" bati ng Blue Queen mula sa monitor ng kwarto ko.

"You are invited to report at the Main Office. You are only given 15 minutes to prepare yourself," she added and disappeared right away.

I set my feet quietly on the floor. Napahawak ako sa ulo ko nang ilang minuto bago tuluyang tumayo sa kama ko.

What now? I whispered in irritation.

Habang inaayos ko ang sarili ko, hindi ko maiwasang hindi masaktan sa mga sinabi sa akin ni Tristan kahapon.

"I thought it was love. Hindi pala iyon totoo. What we had before was nothing but a dead love."

Napakurap ako dahil sa mga luhang nabuo mula sa mga mata ko. Every drop of my tears travelled painfully on my face. Para ba itong mga karayom na tumutusok sa dibdib ko- sobrang sakit.

How could he have sounded so sincere in his promises when all along he could have just been taking me for a ride?

I slowly dried my face and smiled again. Kailangan ko maging malakas sa mga oras na ito. I would try to forget about what happened between us in the forest. I just wanted to focus on the things that matter now.

I left my room and ran towards the corridor. Halos lumipad ako mula sa kwarto ko hanggang sa tapat ng pinto ng office ni Professor Fina.

Biglang bumukas ito dahilan para pumasok ako sa loob.

"You never failed to amaze me, Toffee. You're always on time," bati ni Professor Fina sa akin.

"What do you need now?" deretsang tanong ko sa kanya.

"Easy," natatawang sabi nito. "I just want to inform you about your promotion."

"Promotion?" naguguluhan na tanong ko sa kanya.

"Yes. Your promotion," she confirmed.

Tumayo siya at lumapit sa akin. "Since you are now classified under Distinct Blood, it's time for you to transfer in the Blue Agents' House."

"What do you mean?" I asked, still confused of what she was saying.

"Listen. This is a rare opportunity, but you will be part of the upcoming mission. You will be joining the Blue Agents as they save Blue-eyed Vampires like you," she smiled at me.

I was left speechless. Halos hindi ako makapag-isip sa mga oras na ito.

This is it.
This is what I'm waiting for.
I can finally leave this town.
