JAEDEN

I waded carefully through the grass until I reached his tombstone. I could already feel tears brimming my eyes, but I pushed them back. It wasn't time to cry, at least not yet.

"Hey, Noah" I said mournfully, my nose sniffling. "So uh...it's been awhile, but, I really needed to see you. I think there's some kind of curse on our family, Noah. Everyone either dies or leaves...and I miss you so much"

I paused a moment.

"There's a lot I want to say...a lot I want to tell you..."

I bit my lip to keep from crying. I was useless at this kind of thing, so I had to mull over just what to say.

"I um...I've never been too good at saying something, Noah...but I love you, and I miss you. But I'd also like to thank you. Without you, I never would've met Wyatt"

Wyatt squeezed my hand as he held me from behind. He said nothing, I guess he didn't want to interrupt, but his breath on the back of my neck and his arms holding me tight as I cried was more than enough comfort.

I placed the flowers on his grave as I knelt down and ran my thumb across his name.

"Goodbye, Noah" I whispered.

I stood up and let the tears fall. Wyatt wrapped his arms around me again and very slightly swayed back and forth. His eyes were closed, and his breath returned to my neck as he held me. I clutched his arms and closed my eyes.

"I'm sorry, Jaeden" he whispered. "I know you loved him"

I turned around in his arms so that I was facing him. His caramel eyes glistened with empathy as he gazed at me.

"But now I have you" I said softly. "I love you"

"I love you, too. Forever"

"NOOO!" I screamed, and jolted awake.

"Jaeden?"

It was only a nightmare.
