JAEDEN

"Finn? Jack? Rise and shine, bois"

"Good morning to you too" Finn said groggily and rubbed the tiredness from his eyes.

"Morning" Jack mumbled, and stumbled past me.

I watched him quizzically before turning to Finn.

"What did you do now?" I asked in a scolding tone.

"It's complicated" he answered under his breath.

He sounded serious.

"Oh...You wanna talk about it?"

He shook his head no.

"Maybe later, Jae. First you have some explaining to do"

Finn smirked and wrapped his arm around me but I chuckled and pushed him off. Something was wrong, and he still had some explaining to do too.

And I was determined to find out.

We walked into the living room and Finn sat down next to Wyatt.

"I'll go grab Jack" I said, and Finn gulped.

I sighed and went to the bathroom.

"Jack?" I knocked gently. "Are you okay, buddy?"

"Yeah" he answered, but that was a lie.

I smiled and opened the door. He was leaning against the sink, eyes red and nose dripping.

I smiled consolingly and pulled him in for a hug.

"I said I'm fine" he sniffled.

"No you're not"

He hugged me tight and I brushed his hair behind his ear.

"What wrong, buddy?" I queried. "What did Finn do now?"

"Can it wait?" he asked. "I promise, I'll tell you later, I just...it's complicated"

I rubbed his back.

"Sure, Jack. You wanna come join us? I'll slap Finn for you later" I whispered.

He smiled and laughed lightly.

"Yeah, I'll be right there"

I patted his shoulder and made my way back to the living room, sitting on the other side of Wyatt.

Jack sat down next to me, away from Finn.

Finn frowned, nearly pouting but Jack wouldn't even look at him. Wyatt gave them a curious glance.

"I think they're fighting again" I whispered to him, and he nodded.

"We'll fix that in a second" he whispered and winked.

I chuckled and kissed his cheek.

Finn and Jack sighed.

"Guys, come on. At least sit next to each other"

They glared at each other.

"GUYS" I scolded them, and they reluctantly sat next to each other on the couch, facing Wyatt and I.

"I'm sorry, Jae" Finn apologized sheepishly. "So, what's going on? Why were you and Wyatt crying last night?"

"Because my mom, she..." I paused, and Wyatt squeezed my hand. "My mom doesn't want me dating Wyatt. She...she thinks he's bad for me"

"Bullshit" Jack scoffed. "I've only known him for a few days but he's alright to me. I see how he is with you"

"Yeah, why would she say that?" Finn asked.

I glanced at Wyatt and he nodded. I squeezed his hand.

"She thinks I'm dangerous because of my past" Wyatt explained. "I...I killed someone...in self defense, but I have a temper. I've been keeping it under control but it's hard to when my loved ones are in danger"

Finn and Jack looked at him shocked before staring at their feet.

"Damn" they cursed under their breath.

"It's really complicated" I said quietly, and Wyatt squeezed my hand.

"It'll be okay, Jae" he whispered, and kissed my cheek.

Jack and Finn turned away after that and I sighed.

"What's going on with you guys?" I questioned.

"Nothing" Jack muttered, and Finn stayed silent but his eyes read hurt.

"Finn, what did you do?"

"I didn't!- It's complicated, Jae" he said, almost inaudibly.

I glanced from him and Jack before grabbing them and pulling them to their feet.

"Follow me" I ordered sternly, and they obeyed.

I made them stand in the hallway while I went into the closet. I pretended to be grabbing spare controllers when I made a crashing sound.

"Now, we're all gonna sit down and-"

Crash

I dropped a box on purpose.

"Jaeden! You okay?" they asked, running into the closet.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just pick up that box, will you?"

They glared at each other before picking up the box and putting it back on the shelf. I quickly closed the door and locked it.

"Hey!" Jack banged on the door.

"What the hell, Jaeden!" Finn cursed.

I folded my arms and leaned against the door.

"Now you two are going to explain what happened to me, IN FULL DETAIL, or else you're gonna be trapped in there!"

"Jaaaaaae" they whined, muffled.

"Ah ah ah!" I shushed them. "No arguing! You're gonna tell me what happened and then we're going to fix this!"

"Please, open the door!" they pleaded, but I refused.

"No! Not until we talk!"

They sighed and I could hear them settle, giving up.

This would be the start of a fantastic couple.
