JAEDEN

"Hello, boys" Mom and Jenn said in unison.

I gulped, and I could sense Wyatt tensing up. Mom and Jenn were sitting together sipping tea at the table.

"Hey, Mom" I said, and Wyatt said the same thing right after me. "What's up?"

"Well," Mom started, "Jenn and I were just talking about something. Could you two have a seat?"

I gave Wyatt a look and he shrugged before we sat down in front of them.

"So, what's up?" I repeated.

"We wanted to tell you something..."

I grabbed Wyatt's hand under the table and he squeezed mine.

"I got a job offer in Toronto!" Jenn explained. "There's a team there that's taking off for Siberia in the morning, there's some amazing rare wildlife there they want me to photograph!"

"Siberia?!" Wyatt exclaimed shocked.

"Yeah, isn't it amazing? I mean, I know it's incredibly cold but this is a rare opportunity! What do you think, Wyatt?"

"No! No no, I don't wanna leave! I love J-" Wyatt paused, and Jenn raised an eyebrow. "I mean, I love the area and I love hanging out with Jaeden. Please, don't make me go with"

"Honey, I-"

"If I may," Noah interjected, "we have a lot of room here, since it's just me and Mills, so I'd be more than happy to let Wyatt stay here until you get back"

"Really?" Wyatt and I said in unison, and Noah smiled as he nodded yes.

"I wouldn't want to trouble you" Jenn said, but Noah waved her off.

"It's no trouble, my little brother has clearly taken a liking to your son, and your son has taken a liking to him, so it'd be my pleasure to let them spend time together. Believe me, it's rare to see that kid smile, nowadays"

"Are you sure, sweetheart?" Mom asked Noah, and he nodded yes again.

"Absolutely"

"Is that what you want, Wyatt?" Jenn queried Wyatt.

Wyatt looked at me and flashed his perfect dimples.

"Yes. I want to stay here" he answered.

"Well, alright then"

"But, wait, Mom? How long will you be gone?"

"A few months" she sighed. "Four at the most"

"Seriously?" Wyatt raised his voice, and Jenn nodded mournfully. "Alright...do you need help packing?"

"That'd be a big help, dear"
