"oh fudge nuggets." I had begun to fear for my brothers vocabulary list as it seemed like his friends were influencing him. It started off small things like oh Butter balls, but so turned into, darn freaking bull crap. As well as many other words, including cussing. At this moment in time he was calling his x-box a female dog.
"Max!" I shrieked running across the living room to cover his mouth. I then whispered in her ear, "only when its just me and you."
"Finneeee!!" Max sighed heavily.
"Whats going on?" Mom walks in to the den where were at. We turn around to face mom putting on our most innocent smiles and responding with, "Nothing!!!" Mom rolls her eyes and walks out the room muttering under her breath about how she always regrets talking to us.
I love my mom I do, shes just not mine. I mean biologically. Emotionally, she is my mom. My Dad walked out on us when Max was only two. I can't even call him dad anymore, he's hurt me too much, so instead he is known as Albert. I was a little older than Max when he did leave. I try to not let it get to me.
"Hey Shelby, some guys here!" My mom shouts from the entrance. As I walk to the front door I wonder who it is. Then I remember its only Luke who's coming over to work on our project.
"Oh mom, this is Luke. Were working on that poetry project in English together. Member?" I explain as Luke steps inside.
"Oh yes thats right! Do whatever you like as long as, Luke please take your shows off, I just vacuumed. Lemme go get Max out of the den, you guys can study in there. Max does have a soccer game soon so will it be oka-"
"Yes mother don't worry." I groaned sliding into the kitchen, look followed.
I opened the fridge and looked for snacks.
"Grape soda, Dr. Pepper, Cherry cola or water?" I ask.
"Um...Ill take a water."
"Okay." I say grabbing a water and then a Dr. Pepper for my self. I then led Luke to the den.
"HI! Im Max. Do you like my sister?" My brother asks.
"Um no..?" Luke says, not exactly sure how to react.
"Good because I don't want guys to hurt her again."
"Again?"
I stand up and pick up Max, putting him over my back.
"Get to your room now you little brat." I whispered to him.
"Awww are you embarrassed??"
"No your just lucky I took my meds this morning." And by that he knew to get.
"Sorry. Ignore him." I say taking a sip of my soda.
"Again?" Luke repeats him self.
"Nothing." I respond flatly, trying my best to contain my self.
"Shel...." My heart dropped at the old nick name my dad used for me when I knew him.
"Don't call me that."
"Why?"
"Just because okay? Don't try to get to know me and don't call me that!" Im really happy I took my medicine this morning, like really happy.
"Look, Im sorry Luke...I just...ugh!!" I said hiding my hands with my face. "I really am I sorry!" I tried to hold back tears.
"Um its fine...I shouldn't have asked..."
"Okay, anyways, um so I found this Acrostic and I already looked over it."

It was latter that night and Luke had just left. He wasn't too bad, I just don't like people. I hate making new friends. I just couldn't. Last time I tried it turned on me and the people I had left me.
I was currently reading The fault in our Stars by John Green. I had read all of his books. And No matter what, I could read this book a million times, never getting tired of it. I had read it ten, now eleven times. I was that obsessed with it.
"Erm hello?" I heard a faint accent.
"Im up here Luke!" I yelled. His eyes bulged at the sight of my room.
It was nothing huge. I had gray walls with lights strung up on two walls. One wall had pictures on it, the other had many drawings I had done along with posters from the many bands I loved. There was every type of poster in there. From the Fray to Katy Perry, from Panic! at the disco to The Newsboys. I loved music.
One wall had my huge shelf filled with books, movies and music. Luke kneeled down to look at them.
"13 reasons why, looking for Alaska, Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering heights, Just listen..." Luke muttered under his breath a bunch of my tittles.
"Wacha reading now?" He asked.
"The fault in our stars." I replied.
"I hated that book."
"Why?"
"Too predictable."
"Too happy?"
"Little."
"Whatever." I said under my breath. "Well its predictable like you."
"What do you mean?" Luke asks.
"Well for example, most guys who read something with love in it, hate it. Also I know tomorrow you will wear skinny jeans and have your hair styled like that. I know that you will say something sarcastic and rude." I explained.
"Yeah? Well your quite the opposite. Your un-predictable."
"Thats not my fault." I whispered.
"I didn't mean it, Shel."
"Don't call me that. And its fine, I don't care." But truth is, I do care. I wish I would stop being so wired.
"Your lucky I took my meds." I smiled slightly. And Luke, he smiled back.
