* This is my first serious story! I have written so many before but only write a few chapters and get bored, so I am pretty excited about this, so stick with me :) I still have a lot of improving to do with my writing so feedback and tips are always welcomed! I dedicate this chapter to JessGirl93 because her story "The Bad Boy's Girl really inspired me!*

"What are you kidding me?" I said practically screaming into the phone. "No, no, if you are Miss Summers, then I have the right person and you are the new owner of a 2011 Kia Optima!" the man chuckled back into the telephone. A few months ago I bought a 5 dollar raffle ticket to win a new car, it was for charity and I didn't even think twice about it, I had forgotten I entered until literally right now. I could already envision myself saying goodbye to my beat up 1999 malibu and even though I had some good memories in that car, it was definitely time. "Ok thank you so much, when can I come pick it up?

Five hours later I was signing the papers and practically drooling over the sleek red detail of the Optima. It glowed brighter than Edward Cullen's spray tanned abs. "Need a napkin, because you are slobbering everywhere, Peachy" my boyfriend chuckled in my ear sneaking up behind me. His lips nestled behind my left ear and his breathe tickled it sending shivers down my back. After almost 5 years of being with Colin, I still was constantly turned on by him. "Shut up!" I mumbled noting the woman behind the front desk giving us the stink eye. He laughed and spun me around so I was facing him. I stared into his hazel eyes that always had a twinkle in them and racked my fingers through his thick dark brown hair. His hand rested on my back and pushed me into him, "You know what a new car means right?" his sexy voice whispered to me. I could hear the lady clearing her throat behind me, clearly this was making her bothered. My heart sped up and I nodded, "Oh yes!"

I knocked on my mother's front door but no one answered. "Maybe she actually left the house today?"  My father passed away 4 years ago and my mother told us she was doing fine but often she waited out the days in her house and the only company she got was when my sister or I came around. We started to turn around until we heard the door click and swing open, "So sorry come on in, I am here" my mom's always shrill voice rang out. I hugged my mom, "Hi mom, how are you doing?" I asked her pulling away and gently kissing her cheek. She reached for Colin and he wrapped his big strong arms around her frail body. "I am good honey, I was just scrubbing the bathroom, didn't know if I heard someone or not" she said motioning us to follow her in.

The smell of apple cinnamon filled my nose and my mind was engulfed in nostalgia.  Growing up my house had the same scent, Apple Cinnamon. My mom stuck an air freshner in every single room of the house, it was my dad's favorite smell. My friends loved coming to my house just for the smell of it (haha pun), plus my mom would always bake cookies and serve kool aid. I ran my fingers over the marble top of the kitchen counter, on family nights we would slide the kitchen chairs underneath the counter, my sister and I on one side and my mother & father the other side. Almost everytime Miranda & I won, and we knew they would let us, our bet was junior mints. If our parents won they had to share half the box with us but if we won we could keep the whole box. I moved into an apartment of my own last year to be closer to Princeton and even though I stopped over two or three times a week to check up on my mom, I missed this house still.

Mom slipped the curtain to peer outside, "I haven't see that car before?"  Colin's head perked up, "Yeah Annika won that" he said beeming at me. He wasn't beeming because I had a new car, he was smiling about what we already DID in that car. My mom clasped her hands together, "Oooh how lucky! BY the way honey, at almost 21 years old I find it funny that you still can't button your top right! I cannot believe you went all day like this" she said tisking and walking over to me to fix it. I just sat there rolling my eyes in humor, yup I totally walked around like this all day.

"So how are both of your classes going?" she asked. Colin and I both attending Princeton, he was going for business and I was going for teaching. He was already in his fourth year while I was finishing up my second. I took a gap year after highschool to work at Eat n Park and save up money and when I starting seeing Colin he was in 11th grade while I was in 10th. Colin had one semester left and then he would graduate"Not bad, few more weeks though and I am sure glad though, my math class is kicking my butt. I am just going to scrap by with a B, I think" I responded shrugging.  Colin rubbed my neck, "You doubt yourself, you probably going ace your last few test so stop, you got this" he said encouragingly. I groaned tucking my shoulders in as he ran circles with his fingers around the nape, "You don't even have to really study, even in highschool you had that ability!" I said whining.  He laughed and stuck out his tongue, "Don't flatter me, I do study, I just don't complain about it as much as you do!" I stuck my tongue back out at him, "Whatever." My mother just stood there with the coffee cup in hand shaking her head and laughing at our bickering, "My children" she mummered while taking a sip.
