Chapter XII: O Castitatis Lilium O, Pure Lily

It was already dark. I am walking home from school after Haruki and I talked for a bit. I was thinking of the story of the book, Eye of Markov. Why does it sounds so familiar? I felt like I know everything that happened on the book.

After I got home, I suddenly remembered something. A memory. A girl. A memory of a girl, very thin, definitely malnourished, pale and sickly. I remember now. I remember who is this girl. Her name, her name is Elyssa, my first friend.

FLASHBACK

We got separated from Naomi and the other girl, they run, they never came back for us. Only the two of us are left. I kept pulling her to run, but she seems out of breath. "You should run,and just leave me.", she said. "I won't, you will die if I leave you.", I replied. She started singing something:

"Kyrie, fons bonitatis".. "Why are you singing", I asked. "If you won't run, at least listen to me singing. I can't run anymore, my body felt so tired", she said, "come here, sit beside me", she added. I sat beside her among the tall grasses of the field. she continued singing. "Hey, that is a great song.", I said. "Right?", she asked, "Renier taught me this song. It's titled, Lilium.". "Oh, that's great.", I replied. "Do you know what lilium means?", she asked, I just shook my head signifying a no. "Lilium is a latin word for lily. That's what Renier said.", she said, "By the way, my name is Elyssa, at least that's what they call me.", she added. "They call be Libitina.", I replied. "Hey, Libitina, what do you think the color of a lily?", Elyssa asked. "I don't know, I haven't seen one.", I replied. "How I wish I could see some lilies one day.", she said, "but I think that lilies are violet, just like your hair. So for now, You will just suffice to be my lily.", she added. "I will call you Yuri, it's the japanese for lily.", she added more. "Yuri sounds a good name. I will be Yuri from now on.", I said. "Yes, Yuri, please live, and look for real lilies outside here, once you find a lily, you should know that I will also be happy. That's my greatest dream, to see a lily, and I'm passing it to you.", she said and eventually stopped talking and died. I cried, I've lost my first ever friend. At that time, I felt sad, but deep inside me, I felt very excited. My heart raced, my blood boils, my vision blur; I burnt the whole grass field along with Elyssa's body and our pursuers. After a few moments, I collapsed.

When I woke up, I was on the same old bed, the bed where they inject me with those disgusting liquids. I'm back inside the facility. "Well done, Libitina, you are our first success.", the doctor said, if I recalled his name, they called him, Denver. "My name is not Libitina! My name is Yuri!", I shouted. "Oh, calm down, Yuri it is then.", the doctor said, "So, Yuri, how did you manage to burn the fields?", he asked. "I got so angry that my friend died. I felt really angry and really happy an the same time. I don't know anything after that.", I replied. "Oh, that is a really big help, Yuri.", the doctor said. "Initiate the Trafalgar protocol on her, give her every last shot we got of the Yggdrasil material, moderately.", the doctor ordered his subordinates. They started injecting me with those disgusting liquids again, it seeps through every thread of my being, it is painful. Very painful. They locked my hands and legs with chains on the bed. I shouted, and shouted, and shouted, but no one hears, no one wanted to help me, they just kept injecting those disgusting, emerald green colored, liquids.

After they injected me those liquids, they brought me to a room. A room full of bodies, dismembered. The doctor pulled out one body, cut its limbs. Then he pulled out another body, and cut its limbs too. He cut the head of the second body and injected it with a bit of the disgusting liquid. I want to cover my eyes upon watching the scene before me, but my hands are handcuffed. I shouted, "Stop this please!", but no one cares. The doctor began attaching the limbs to the head, then a few moments, the eyes of the severed head opened, and the limbs begin to move, but it ceased all movements in a few seconds. What the hell is happening?! "Yuri, you see, you got a power inside of you, it can even make the dead live for a few seconds. I want you to be of use, try to revive all this bodies here!", The doctor ordered me. "No I can't!", I shouted, "please let it stop already, doctor!", I pleaded. "You want to make it stop? Then revive all this bodies, and you will be free!", he said and continued chopping the bodies like pieces of meat. I got really afraid, and angry, the guards around me just imploded, the bodies that the doctor chopped, reanimated and their limbs attached to different parts, different bodies. "Very well, very well Yuri!", the doctor said as he laughed hard, "You are a very fine specimen. You are my magnum opus!", He added. "Well then, calm yourself down, girl. We just need some more tests to make sure you won't kill yourself in the outside world, then you will be free.", he said. I collapsed after that, and the reanimated bodies collapsed too. When I wake up, I didn't have any memories of what happened, but I have a faint afterimage of the events, engraved in my mind. The doctor trained me to use my power, he also taught me how to read. Then he told me that there I should go to a lawyer that is a friend of my parents, because that lawyer will give me the properties of my parents.

I got out of that facility at the age os 10, 4 years after Elyssa died.

END OF FLASHBACK

I suddenly cried, terrified and afraid. I go out ofmy house and went to a park. I just got my driver's license, so I drove the carthat got stuck in the garage for years. I went to a park, to see some lilies, apure and violet lilies. "Hey, Elyssa, I made our dream come true already.I hope you can see this, lilies really are violet.", I mumbled to myself.
