I swallow my mouthful of cornflakes, grab my scarf and run out the door.
Swinging my arm in front of my face, I look at my leather watch, ten minutes, that means no coffee, uhhhhh.
Sprinting past the school gates, I drag myself to my first class. Math.
Looking like a hunchback in my seat, I stare at the grey tiled floor. I hate this class
"Well Summer eyes up here, I have an announcement" Mr Ryan says beaming
Great. What announcement shall this be about? More homework, handing out more detention slips, fun, hey?
"This is the new girl of Year 12, I expect you to all guide her along, Meg tell them a bit about yourself, go on"
Their is a girl standing in the corner, eyes fixed on her shoes, she had the sane expression as me on my first day.
It's alright honey, I know how this feels.
"Uh, well there isn't much to say, I'm Meg, from Melbourne, in Australia, way down south"
My eyes glow, now looking towards Meg, I already want to be her best friend, she will understand how I feel, and I can understand how she feels. Calm your farm Summer, what if she doesn't like you, or is a stuck-up spoilt brat.
She walks towards the desk three over from me, I can make my move when this class is over, yay, I'm excited my first friend, well girl one...
The bell rings as I finish my last sum. I grab my bag, books and pencils and rush behind Meg, I walk faster so I am now walking next to her
"Hi Meg, I'm Summer"
"Hi Summer, are the people normally this..... outgoing?!"
"Yepp, I moved to Westmister a couple of weeks ago, I'm from Queensland, Australia is a bit different from here"
"It's crazy here, well wanna be friends.."
"It's a deal" I say grinning
We sit at a table in the Year 12 Area, we talk out about our lives, problems, the future and other weird stuff,
"Yeah I have an older brother, Jack" I say
"Really, lucky I have always wanted a brother, I have an annoying sister" she replies
"I have always wanted a sister!!" I say laughing
"I met this really nice boy at the airport, he gave me his number and we have already catched up once, I want you to meet him, when we organise something soon" Meg says blushing, but grinning
"Awesome, can't wait"
