"Allah's mercy hides our sins,
True repentance, peace begins.
Guard your tongue, let not trust sever,
For Allah's love remains forever."

I want to begin this Chapter by saying: AllEyesonRafah, please raise awareness.

Enjoy:

"Alright, team, let's regroup and go through everything we've uncovered so far," Detective James said, his voice steady but underscored with a sense of urgency that resonated through the cramped conference room. A palpable tension hung in the air as one of his team members, Officer Lara, stood and approached the evidence board with a deliberate stride.

"The victim, Luc Adams, was found dead on the 10th, right in front of an old abandoned building," the detective started, pointing at the photograph of the grim scene. "The situation at first glance suggested suicide—there was even a note. But, the crime scene tells a different story. There are no open windows, no accessible rooftops. It doesn't add up."

She paused to let the team absorb the details. "The autopsy supports a fall from height as the cause of death, matching the supposed suicide. But the logistics of the fall—given the sealed building—steer us towards murder. Luc was last seen alive leaving a local pub; heavily intoxicated, witnesses report. His car remained in the pub's parking lot, and he allegedly took a cab home."

The room was silent, each member following the flow of information. "We briefly detained the taxi driver, scrutinising his potential for involvement. However, his alibi for the night is rock-solid, and we found no motive."

"Personality-wise, we've got conflicting reports. His wife and colleagues paint him as controlling, narcissistic, a micromanager with anger management problems. They've also mentioned he misuses his position and often slacks off at the office, making female employees uncomfortable. On the flip side, his neighbours see him as caring, always laughing, and down-to-earth. A real Jekyll and Hyde situation here. Crucially, he was affiliated with 'The Runners,'" she added, letting the weight of the revelation settle.

She then shifted to a more recent update. "His wife claims that Luc was often away on business, maintaining minimal contact, and that she hadn't seen him for a week before his death."

That's when Mohsin chimed in, his voice cutting sharply through the murmur of the room.  "I overheard his daughter on the phone. She mentioned he'd been home four days ago. We visited on the 12th, so four days prior would be the 8th. His wife is hiding something," Mohsin explained, a glint of realisation in his eyes.

"We've already looked into Mrs Adams, nothing seems out of the ordinary," another team member offered.

"Maybe not on the surface," James conceded, "but there's more to this than meets the eye. Why don't we pay her another visit?"

"I agree, given these inconsistencies and the wife's potential to obscure the truth, I propose we re-interview Mrs. Adams. There might be more she's withholding, perhaps pressured by fear or complicity," Lara added, taking her seat.
