"Can you make someone love you the way you love them?"
"No. Love is not a mirror—it reflects differently in each heart. The truest love is one that embraces this difference and lets it be."

"It's clear that the cause of death wasn't hanging," Anna said, carefully examining the body.

"The victim's injuries suggest a sudden and forceful fall; multiple fractures in the ribs and sternum, likely the result of blunt force trauma. These injuries don't match what you'd expect from just hanging."

"The marks on the neck are inconsistent with a classic hanging," she continued, pointing to the bruising patterns with her gloved hand.

"Note the irregularity of the marks—there's more pressure on the left side, which isn't typical of a self-inflicted event. Normally, in a hanging, the pressure would be evenly distributed, but here, it's mostly on the left side."

She adjusted her position, examining the victim's wrists. "These bruises on the wrists are peri-mortem. Likely defensive injuries."

"You can see here," she gestured toward the faint marks, "there are signs of forceful binding. He was restrained before death, likely with a material that didn't leave distinct patterns—possibly something soft, like cloth, but we'll need to analyse further."

James nodded, his eyes narrowing.

Anna then shifted the victim's body slightly, revealing the discoloration beneath the skin. "See this? The blood pooling under the skin—what we call livor mortis—tells us he was in a different position after he died. The body was moved post-mortem; see how the pooling is concentrated along his back and sides, this suggests the body was left undisturbed for several hours before being moved."

"There's also serious trauma to the chest. Something hit him hard before he died. We'll need to do more tests to find out exactly what caused it, but for now, we know his injuries don't match what we'd expect from just hanging."

"Any signs of drugging? Poison?" Mohsin, who was taking notes, asked.

"Toxicology results will take some time, but there are no immediate signs of overdose—no foam around the mouth, no dilated pupils, and no trace elements under the nails or around the nose that would indicate inhalants. We'll check for everything, though—CO2, cyanide, sedatives. There's always a chance something subtle is in play."

James furrowed his brow, thinking deeply. After a moment, he nodded and instructed, "When you have the full report, send it to me directly." Anna nodded in agreement.

Leaving the autopsy room, James and Mohsin walked down the bright, empty hallway, the fluorescent lights casting long shadows on the floor.

"I just don't get it. Why would the killer go through the trouble of making this look like a suicide, but then leave such obvious signs that it's a murder?" Mohsin asked, puzzled.
