"Are you alright, did you get hurt?" One of the senior Staff members quickly approached Justin.
"Can someone please get this cleaned?" she shouted to the others.
Meanwhile, Justin kept his burning gaze locked on Shafaq, his jaw clenched and fists tightly balled.
"You didn't need to come to the kitchen yourself. You could have just called us if you needed something," the same woman said.
Without breaking his stare from Shafaq, he lifted a finger, silently signalling her to be quiet.
"I can see you two are having a grand time, but Mike, the party isn't in the kitchen. It might be best if you join the festivities outside," he remarked, his words edged with tension, though he addressed Mike, his eyes never leaving Shafaq.
Everyone who was in the kitchen had their attention now on three of them.
Mike looked at Justin and then took a look at Shafaq. It wouldn't have been Mike if he didn't understand the situation.
Having been with the Justin since their childhood one thing that he learned from was how to read people, how to read their emotions with one glance. Then how could he not see what was going on in Justin's head when he showed his emotion so clearly.
"We were just—" he began to explain, but Justin swiftly cut him off.
"I hate having to repeat myself." His gaze remained fixed on Shafaq, so intense it seemed capable of melting steel.
The fierceness in his eyes terrified her. She didn't want Mike to leave her alone with him, but the fear of his anger left her speechless.
Desperate, she reached out and gripped the hem of Mike's suit jacket, silently pleading with him to stay. Her eyes, wide with terror, met his, and she gave a small, trembling shake of her head, begging for his support without uttering a word.
"Mike!" Justin's shout was so forceful that it startled her, causing her to immediately release her grip on Mike's jacket.
Mike paused, considering his options.
Weighing the pros and cons, he realised that staying would likely make things worse. He knew Justin well enough to understand that if he stayed, Justin wouldn't hesitate to cause a scene, regardless of the party.
By now he had understood that Justin had deep, if complicated, feelings for her. Thus, he was confident that he wouldn't harm her.
With a look of helplessness, he gave Shafaq an apologetic glance before turning to leave.
