Stay strong, my heart, against the night so deep,
For in your dreams, you need not weep.
Hold fast, hold on, through pain's sharp sieve,
I am here, my promise, as long as I live.Free 🍉. See end of Chapter for Notes.

The detective's office buzzed with focused energy as the team meticulously sifted through the files seized from Luc's office.
Amid the shuffle of papers, a file slipped from the hands of one team member, revealing an unexpected note: "This will aid your investigation, detective."
The words echoed through the room, prompting all heads to turn towards the source.
"The Light Project - 2010," Ryan announced as he scanned the cover.
"Odd, I don't remember collecting any 2010 files. Everything in Luc's office was dated 2015 and later." He passed the file to James.
"There is a note so someone intentionally put it there." James replied.
The team exchanged glances, "We can try to make a list of the people you met in the Runner's building" proposed one member.
Ryan's response was a contemplative shake of his head. "Aside from the CEO, our only interactions were with the receptionist, her secretary, and the newcomer, Josh. Josh just showed us the office and left. "
"But...we bumped into the janitor, and then another employee spilled his coffee on you and took you to the restroom to clean up, so we were distracted," Mohsin said, reflecting on how such foolish mistakes were made while collecting crucial evidence.
"Stupid," James murmured, a bit irritated. "Someone please look up what this "Light project is."
"The light project was a government initiative aimed at constructing housing in underprivileged areas, and it garnered a lot of attention due to its limited funding. Many companies declined the opportunity, citing insufficient budget allocation. In the end, only a handful, about three or four, were willing to take on the challenge, and The Runners was among them. The project was later cancelled. " Nicole read out the information she found out online.
Lost in his thoughts, Mohsin remained uncharacteristically quiet. At that moment, a female voice broke the silence.
Mohsin turned, locking eyes with the woman just as she stumbled, sending her coffee cascading onto his pristine white shirt.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorr—," she began, only to falter as their gaze met.
"Anna?" His voice held a mix of surprise and recognition as he quickly used tissues to dab at the spill.
"Mohsin?" Anna responded, her astonishment mirrored in her eyes. She set her cup down, offering him more tissues. "Did it burn?"
"It wasn't scalding," Mohsin reassured, though the warmth was enough to leave his chest beneath the shirt faintly flushed.
