"What happens when you lie to someone in power?"
"It means you're playing with fire, knowing they'll see through you, but you can't help testing the flames."

"Martina had stopped investigative journalism a long time ago. She entirely focused on presenting news and hosting. Her previous newspaper office is now closed—but talking to her old colleagues might help," one of Martina's colleagues explained during questioning.
"Thank you; you're free to go," the note-taker declared.
"Were you able to talk to her son?" Mohsin asked his colleague.
"Not yet. But I did find out that Mr. Walls is close friends with Mr. Lewis."
"You mean Eva Lewis's husband?" Mohsin asked surprised.
The colleague nodded and went on, "They used to work for a small estate company together, but then Mr. Lewis married Eva, and his fortunes changed for the better. Wanting to help a friend, Mr. Lewis played matchmaker, introducing Mr. Walls to Martina. She wasn't as wealthy as Eva, but she had accumulated some wealth through her shares in Runners which would and did help Mr Walls."
"I get it. Thanks for your help today, I'll see you around," Mohsin said as he waved goodbye. The colleague nodded in acknowledgment, and they went their separate ways.
As Ryan approached Mohsin's desk, he noticed him engrossed in a series of videos while casually eating his meal. "If I didn't know your age, I'd think you were one of those 'tablet kids' growing up," he remarked with mild concern. "It's not exactly the healthiest habit, eating while glued to your screen."
"Understood, Mum," Mohsin responded nonchalantly, continuing to eat without lifting his gaze.
Ryan, slightly confused, asked, "What?"
"People often joke about having a 'work spouse,' but in my case, you've become my 'work mum', picking up where my actual mum left off in the nagging department once I step into the office," Mohsin replied, maintaining his focus on the screen.
"Fuck you. At least call me dad." Ryan replied with a smirk.
"Okay, grandpa," Mohsin said playfully.
"Keep that up, and I'll unplug your damn monitor next time you look away." Ryan joked, and took a deep sigh.
"What do you need — grandpa?" Mohsin finally looked at him.
"I looked into Martina's old workplace," Ryan began. "Despite her covering high-profile stories and exposing major corporations, the place was barely scraping by, with a staff mostly made up of people who struggled to find work elsewhere due to lack of skills. Martina, however, was a standout. She was incredibly talented and had a gift for twisting facts to her advantage, yet for some reason, she stayed there for over a decade. The owner of the newspaper agency died under suspicious circumstances, and soon after, the company shut down. I have contacted the owner's grandson he is willing to meet us later today," he concluded.
