"Can you cook?" Shafaq asked, a hint of surprise in her voice.

He shook his head with a sheepish grin. "Nope, not really."

She gave him a bemused look. "So, if neither of us knows how to cook, how are we supposed to pull this off? It's like the blind leading the blind."

He shrugged it off casually. "How hard can it be? We can just look up a recipe."

Still not convinced, she followed him out of the game room, her worry showing.

"Maybe we should just call the chef," she suggested.

"No," he said firmly, his voice leaving no room for debate. "We're doing this. Together," he added, not even bothering to look back.

He quickly washed his hands, threw on an apron, and rolled up his sleeves, clearly ready to dive in. He then disappeared into the walk-in freezer, coming back with two kinds of vegetables.

"What do you think we can make with these?" he asked, holding them out to her.

Shafaq, still tying her apron, glanced up at him, feeling a bit lost. "I have no idea," she confessed.

After a moment of thought, she suggested, "Maybe we should pick a recipe first. That way, we'll know exactly what ingredients we need."

"Good idea," he said, pulling out his phone to search for 'Simple dinner recipes.'

But as the minutes dragged on and he remained glued to his screen, Shafaq's patience started to wear thin.

"How about pasta?" she offered, trying to speed things up.

He gave her a quick glance, then shook his head. "Nah, not in the mood," his attention already back on his phone.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he turned his phone toward Shafaq, revealing the recipe he had chosen. Her eyes skimmed the screen as she took in the title: "One-Tray Halloumi and Chickpea Bake."

"It says one tray, so all we have to do is toss everything in and pop it in the oven. Sounds simple enough," he remarked, already gathering the ingredients from the list.

Shafaq couldn't help but think, 'Simple would've been just calling the chef.'

But she decided to go along with it, helping him collect the necessary items. They followed the instructions carefully, sliding the tray into the preheated oven. To their surprise, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
