Monday, June 18th - Kamari & Jayla's Birthday Party 

The sun beamed down on the hot beach making the sand hot as hell when we walked onto it. My feet began to sink into the sand while I wrapped my arms around Jayla's waist. Her eyes were right at the sun as it set. The light from it sparkled against the water making the scene gorgeous, As gorgeous as her. She was quiet for the most part, mainly because her mind was else where. While mines was diretly on her. My thoughts and gaze were broken when I heard her speaking softly.

"Kamari,  what are you thinking about?" She questioned placing her hands upon mines.

"You." Was the simple word that slipped through my lips. She readjusted herself in my lap laying her head back on me, making her fluffy, curly hair spread across my face. I pushed it to the side and leaned down to her ear. "You're so beautiful. La mujer más bella jamás."

"Don't sweet talk me, don't say things you know you don't mean. " She stated breaking the gaze from the sun and her eyes, to look at her fingers.

"I mean every word I am saying out my mouth Jay. Don't think just because this moment I feel like this. I've always thought you were a beautiful woman, and any man would be lucky to have you in his arms."

"I wish you would be the lucky guy and stop playing games." She sighed and stood to her feet. She tried walking away and she got attention from a couple of our friends from school. I stood up pulling her back to me.

"I can be.... just not right at this minute. You deserve to have a some what perfect boyfriend. "

"There is no such thing as perfect Lamar." With that she walked away from me. Leaving me to standing there and let every word she said sink in.

-Thursday, Present Time

"That he has two other kids." My eyes almost popped out my head when he said that. "And they're boys named Sebastian and Diego."

"Wait, how is that even possible?" I questioned angrily. Bas shrugged. I can't be mad at him, he did absolutely nothing. The only person who I can be pissed at is my father..Not only did he keep my brothers away from me, all my life, but he went back and had two kids by my mother. The same woman he claimed to hate so much, but he went to Puerto Rico to hook up with her.

"When he told me I was furious. When I found out why you weren't with Mommy, I stopped caring for her, but then our dad started talking bout you more. Saying how he didn't mean to tell your mom to tell you those things "  I scrunched my face up as he talked.

"Wait, what? My dad told my mom to tell me?"

"Yeaaaah,  okay so Mommy was never suppose to see you again due to the danger she almost put you in. You were so attached to your mom, so  your dad told her to tell you that so he could bring you back to America with him, with no problem.

The events from earlier today played through my head like a movie I was devastated right now, all my life I thought my mom was a bad person, but I been living with the bad person. I ran my hands down my face.

"Kamari!!! "  Jay ran into my room holding her phone shaking a little.

"Yes Jayla? " I quickly answered her.

"We have to go back to our old neighborhood. It may seem like a dumb risky situation, but NYU said Reese hasn't even been there yet, and it's not records stating that he even got on the place to go there. Where ever he is, his plane ticket wasn't used..  He never left Cali. " Wow another issue.

"No, stay here with Bas and Diego. You will be okay promise." He begged looking down at me .

"Noo,  what if they come here? Whoever this is, is not dumb I'm pretty sure. " He sucked his teeth at me. I simply crossed my armsacross my chest.

"I can't loose you. I won't be able to sleep at night knowing you died because I let you come."

"Nothing is going to happen. Drop the boys off at Auntie house then we can go." Bas tisk tisked his way into our conversation.

"If you two think I'm not coming with y'all. Y'all got another this thing coming." Kamari groaned walking away from us. I smiled to myself because he knows I get my way anyways, and he can't say no to his brother either.

"WE LEAVE AT 1 AM!" He yelled befire slamming his door shut.
