Chapter 6 The encounter

3rd person POV

"Guess it's one to one now Ace" Jack smirked, Ace sighed and accepted his loss.  They had just finished having a debate that meant nothing.  Only to get interrupted, they all hear footsteps coming from a forest,
"What was that!" Jack asked as all of them turned to see where the sound was,
"I don't know but we should all get ready..." Olivia suggested as she got into a battle stance.  Jack and Ace got into two different battle stances, Ace had a boxing stance while Jack had no stance.  When the person walked out of the forest, all You heard was,
"Here we go again" before pulling out a curve bladed sword. After that, the person dashed through Olivia, Jack, and Ace at the same time, Olivia got slashed on the stomach, but covered the wound with lava secreting from her hand, although for Ace and Jack,
"Sorry pal, but that doesn't work on me cause I have water guts" Jack smirked,
"You missed" Ace stated as he stuck out his tongue. The hooded swordsman was surprised and was about to strike again... but Jack pulled off his hood and shock-waved his sword out off his hand.
"No way! Doctor Ace!?" Olivia yelled as she looked at the white and golden robot with teal lights. 
"Oh Mistress Olivia, is that you?" The robot asked as he assisted Olivia up,
"Apologies miss Pierce, but I remember you not being in the team" Doctor Ace realized,
"I was then but... after The Incident, Zachary gave me this and said I was apart of the team now" Olivia responded,
"Oh, right, that incident, hey do you reckon it changed Conner's cocky attitude?" Doctor Ace joked, Olivia giggled.  Jack walked over towards Doctor Ace and asked,
"Are You Ace from the future?"
"There's another Ace?" Doctor Ace questioned,
Jack pointed towards Ace, Doctor Ace walked over to Ace with his hands behind his back,
"Pardon me, but are you perhaps Ace?" He asked.
"Yes, and I can see that you're another Ace as well" Ace smiled,
"I do apologize for attacking you three, but I certainly thought that you were a part of the Jackals" Doctor Ace apologized,
"What's a Jackals?" Jack asked with a confused look on his face.  Doctor Ace and Olivia sighed,
"They're a group of advanced hybrid humans like me" Olivia answered,
"Oooohh... I don't get it" Jack responded as he crossed his arms.  Olivia sighed and explained everything to Jack and Ace.

10 minutes later

"Alright!  Do you get it now?" Olivia asked,
"Mhm" Jack nodded.
"Great!  Now let's find the others!" Doctor Ace suggested gesturing all of them to follow him,
"Wait!  You don't mean-" Olivia asked,
"Oh yes Miss Pierce, they're still quite alive and well." Doctor Ace nodded, Olivia jumped in the air with joy.  Then, all of them walked into the forest, then Jack yelled,
"WAIT!  You're in a team!!" Ace punched him on the head out of frustration,
"Took you that long!?" Ace scolded, Olivia and Doctor Ace laughed.  Then, a voice was heard in the distance,
"What drives your sanity will disappear forever..." making them stop and turn towards a gang walking towards them,
"Hello there" a dark figure greeted,
"Care to die?" Echoed another voice,
"Wow That is the worst villainous line I've ever heard" Jack admitted, and all of the figures charged at all of them, Jack started throwing his shockwave punches while Ace was trying to get a new power, nothing worked on it, all it did was make a hole in the dark figures and then slowly patch itself up like venom regenerating itself when it's been cut.  Then, one of the dark figures threw a black orb at Doctor Ace and Olivia, trapping them,
"Ngh, can't... get out" Olivia gasped, squirming around inside attempting to free herself,
"Grim shadow!  What do you want from us!" Doctor Ace asked,
"I don't need anything from you" it answered as it dashed towards Doctor Ace,
"I want them" it whispered and pointed towards Jack and Ace.  Jack threw another shockwave punch at the grim shadow but the same thing happened, Ace then had an idea, he used his mind powers and said to Jack in his mind,
"Throw a barrage of your punches at Olivia and the other Ace to destroy the shadow trap thing" Jack looked at Ace and nodded.  The grim shadow looked at the two and slowly walked towards them, Jack then threw a fast barrage of shockwave punches at Olivia and Doctor Ace to destroy the shadow trap.  It then disappeared for a little amount of time but just enough for them to escape,
"NO!" The grim shadow yelled, Olivia shouted a war cry and disappeared.  The grim shadow turned his head, desperate to find her, but didn't see her, until, she appeared in front of it, back turned.  The grim shadow ran towards her but then heard a slash sound as a large slash wound appeared in the middle of the grim shadow's chest.
"Gaah!!" Screamed the grim shadow, it kneeled down on the cold dirt beneath and placed a hand on it's slash mark, grunting in pain.  Doctor Ace pulled out his blade and dashed towards the grim shadow at blinding speeds, but the grim shadow snapped it's fingers and it's clones ran towards all of them.  Olivia smirked and made giant obsidian spears charge out of the ground and pierce the clones through the chest like chariots.  The grim shadow laughed,
"You think it was that easy?" Then, Doctor Ace placed the tip of his sword against the back of the grim shadow's spine.
"Look around you!  They can't die that easily, you just multiplied them!"  The grim shadow laughed, and Jack, Ace, and Olivia looked around them.  The clones were split and multiplied like bacteria, Jack groaned, and Olivia turned back from steaming to normal,
"Sorry guys!  I'm out of juice!" Olivia apologized,
"Same here!" Jack agreed,
"I hate to admit it, but My hands are quite full at the moment" Doctor Ace commented as he placed his sword on the grim shadow's back even more.  Olivia and Jack looked at Ace,
"Sorry, but my powers suck!" Ace responded,
"Then try to unlock a new one!" Jack demanded,
"Ace" Olivia said and approached him,
"You got this" she smiled, then the clones all started running towards them and lunge at them.  It was like time had slowed down and left Ace by himself, Ace looked at them and took a deep breath and closed his eyes,
"Breathe" he said and opened his eyes, revealing light blue eyes and then used his powers.  Then, all the clones fell down and squirmed on the ground,
"No!  This can't be!" The grim shadow said, and all of it's clones became lifeless.  Doctor Ace then pushed his sword through the grim shadow's chest.
"No!  You have no idea what you've done!" The grim shadow shouted as sparks were flew out of it's body as it struggled to free itself.  Doctor Ace pushed it in farther into the grim shadow's chest.  This made the grim shadow scream bloody murder and disappear into sparks.  After that, all the clones disappeared one by one.  Ace dropped to the floor, panting of exhaustion as his eyes returned to their original color Jack and Olivia helped him up.
"Great job buddy!  You saved me!  I mean, us" Jack praised and patted him on the back,
"Yeah good job..." Olivia blushed,
"Something the matter?" Ace asked,
"No, NO!  Nothing at all..." Olivia quickly responded.  Doctor Ace placed his sword back in and walked toward the three of them,
"Shall we continue our journey?" He asked, they all looked at him and nodded and continued on their journey to find the others.

In another place...

The grim shadow walked over to a platform and kneeled down,
"Is the mission successful?" A mysterious person asked tinkering with a golden cup,
"It is not my queen" the grim shadow answered,
"Then you know what has to be done correct?" The queen asked,
"Yes my queen" the grim shadow responded,
"Good... Then Let us begin..." the queen smiled maliciously and the grim shadow got up and walked out of the room.
