Chapter 13 The Dream

Zachary POV
After dinner, the team and I went to our rooms to do whatever we needed. Like showering, makeup, polishing, whatever we need to do.  Camila insisted that she'd "negotiate" with her boss to get us free rooms.  Wonder how that went... I shake off the thought and walk over to my room.  "Room 207" It read, I take out the card and slide it into the lock and opened the door.  I walk inside and close it on my way in, and place my silver daggers on a desk nearby.  Then I walk towards my bed and fell asleep.  After, I wake up to see the light still on, and I walk to look into a life sized mirror next to the desk.  I lift up my sweater to look at my bruises and scratches. 
"Nice scars... and what kind of abomination gave you that?" A familiar feminine voice called out, I quickly looked around my room, but found no one in it.  I look back at the mirror, and see a red eye with black tears coming out. 
"Shadow Serpent?" I asked as I placed my right hand on the mirror,
"YesSsS..." It hissed, I assume it's in my head. 
"H-how... how are you here?" I stutter taking off my sweater,
"I'm one of the three ancient beings, I chose you as my host to inherit my power" it answered.  I walk away from the mirror and into the bathroom,
"Can you come out and take up a form?" I asked as I turned on the light, hoping to see if it were real.  I didn't really like how she, or it, was speaking to me, so I hope I can see her it. 
"But of course, I think I know just the person to use as my form" that got me worried.  Before I know it, a familiar woman appeared in front of me.  She had long brown messy hair as dusty as dirt, round eyeglasses, a white scientist coat with a light brown shirt, blue jeans, brown eyes as brown as gravy with a very skinny figure.  I knew exactly who this was, this was my older sister.  She smiles at me with her beautiful smile,
"L-L-Lena?" I choked, eyes wide,
"Hey there Nugget Boy" she winked.  My sister would often call me Nugget Boy because when I was 16, I did a chicken nugget challenge, and choked on the first one before stopping, That cracked her up so much.  Tears began to form around my eyes with heavy bags underneath. 
"You know I'm not actually her, right" I hear her say, which made me stop crying, rushing back towards reality. 
"But I could bring her here" She continued, I looked back up with the happiest smile I could do.
"You could?" I ask,
"But of course" It answered as it turned into Sophia, then to Conner, then to a mysterious girl in a dark seeping cloak.
"I am one of the 3 ancient beings, meaning that I have access to the spirit realm" it continued.  I was so happy, I couldn't wait to see my sister again.
"Could you please bring her here right now?" I begged, it nodded and looked at the back wall behind her.  And there my sister appeared in front of me,
"LENA!" I cried out and tackled her, her long dusty brown hair splashed against her face as I practically shook her, she repositioned her glasses and smiled.
"You're real this time right?" I sobbed, with tears running down my eyes, she placed a hand on my head and petted me.
"Yeah, this time I'm real daggerboy" she reassured, she picked us up from the ground and took us to another world. I looked around to see illuminating light blue skies that were a little darker than Earth's, and a giant ebony colored tree with no leaves, and bright yellow orbs floating around the place.
"Where are we Shadow Serpent?" I ask as I separate from Lena's hug. She turned to me and her long white hair following,
"This is the Spirit Realm, a place where all spirits go when they die" she responded. I heard a familiar voice coming from one of the nearby orbs. I ran over to grab it, and what I saw was one of my memories. Lena's Last Wish...

Lena's Last Wish
It was about 20 years ago when this happened, and Lena had been shot in the liver with a deadly toxin by one of the Groundhog Agents.  This was also when my entire team was suffering the same disease as well. The only cure for this disease however, was my Sister's mind. Her mind had the knowledge to cure any disease, but she's now in my arms... slowly dying. I started running as fast as I can to my Dad's house. I looked down at her, tears raining down my face. She was still smiling at me, telling me things like, "It's okay..." and "I'm sorry..." in her fading voice. I finally got to my Dad's house, which was a giant mansion actually, covered in blood and mud. I begin banging on the door,
"Dad! Open up!" I yelled as it started pouring rain down on me. He opened the door and looked at me with an angry look,
"Zachary! You know what time it is?! I don't have time to-" I cut him off,
"It's Lena!! She's been shot with a toxin by those groundhog agents" I raised her limped body to his level to show him.
"Please... she's the only thing that can save the others" I beg, he looked the least bit concerned,
"Follow me" he commanded and took Lena off my hands. I rushed inside to follow him, closing the door on my way in. He looked at Lena as he gently placed her in a hospital bed and pushed her into a chemical lab.
"Alright squirt, what'll we need to make the cure?" He asked, as he took off his white scientist hood, revealing his long pink hair, and glasses. Lena slowly sat up, and pointed to a jar of venom, my dad looked at it, very concerned.
"Lena! Are you insane?! That'll kill them!" He screamed, I glared at him,
"Remember what Richard said, have faith in others... don't you have faith in your own daughter?" I quoted, he looked back at me, with a shocked expression, and grabbed my shoulders,
"Do you know what kind of venom that is! That venom is from the Shadow Serpent, it could kill them in an instant" He lectured, as he shook me. Lena jumped out of the bed and punched my dad to the ground.
"Are you stupid! That venom is powerful enough to cure death itself! You saw it! You were just consumed by your pride to use it!" Lena yelled, and fell to the ground.  Coughing as she turned pale, I ran over to her and helped her up.  Then, she reached into her pocket and grabbed a small white golden cube, and threw it onto the ground.  Unleashing Doctor Ace for the first time.  Blue dots in the middle of his forehead sparked open for the first time, and he began to bow down in front of Lena. 
"What is my task master?" He spoke with loyalty, she coughed heavily as her skin turned white.
"Make... *cough* *cough* an anti serum... *heavy cough*"she spoke and coughed out blood. Doctor Ace saluted and scanned Lena with a long sky blue laser, then went to my dad's work station to make a cure. Picking up a chemical flask in each hand. One was colored dirt brown, and the other, pure white. He poured the white into the brown and shook the flask, I walked over to him, shoving my dad out of the way.
"Who are you?" I asked, he continued to work, picking up the jar with the shadow serpent's venom into his hands, and slowly opened it.
"I am Doctor Ace, Lena Dynamic's creation" it answered, placing a funnel on the flask and gently poured the venom. He never even look at me, he was very concentrated into making this cure. He stopped for a moment, and grabbed the bottle of venom and started pouring the darkness liquid into the flask when it was half way full. I looked at the two flasks on the white counter, one was golden yellow, and one was so dark, it looked like it had no end inside. I then looked back at Doctor Ace,
"What kind of sickness does she have?" I questioned, trying to help.  He Still didn't look at me, and continued with his work. 
"She has a very lethal disease.  It's called Kineprosy... it makes your white blood cells destroy your brain and heart at the same time" he answered, my eyes widen, No!  It can't be!  I can't lose her!  My thoughts were interrupted by my dad walking towards the counter, helping Doctor Ace.  I glared at him,
"If you want your sister to live, then she's going to need all the help she can get" he spoke, and repositioned his lab coat.  I nod and walked over to Lena coughing up blood.  I pick her up from the floor and place her on the bed. 
"I'm taking her to her room" I say and push the bed out of the drug lab. 

Timeskip

I'm back in the drug lab with 1 tiny blue colored bottle in my hand. 
"This is it?" I asked my dad, my dad sadly nodded,
"How long does it take until you can replicate this?"
"A day at minimum" my dad explained rubbing the back of his neck.  My faith slowly faded,
"How long until Lena dies?" I dreaded,
"Possibly in a few minutes, 4 at most because of where the shot was" my eyes widen, and I began to cry,
"But what-  But what if I use it now?" My dad looks away,
"Then there won't be any left for the rest" My heart sank, 1 life over 6.  Which one do I choose?  My dad looks back down on me,
"Choose which ever one you'd so desire... no one will fault you on your decision" he reassured and walked out of the room.  I began crying heavily, tears leaving a dark dent under my eyes.  Then, I walked towards a long room with 7 beds in front of it, all of my teammates in a bed with an ECG, and an EEG beside them.  I walk over to Lena's bed, tears hitting her white blanket.  She slowly wakes up and looks at me,
"Hey....." she says quietly,
"I'm so sorry!  I let you get shot!" I apologize as I banged my head on the side of the bed, Lena caresses my cheek with her hand,
"It's okay... I'm just glad that you're safe..." she slowly reassures,
"I have the cure right here, but there's only enough for one right now... Dad said it could take days, but you die in a few minutes" I cried.  She began to pet my hair soothingly,
"It's okay... you got to move on..." she says and begins to cry too.  I look back up at her, seeing her smile for the last time,
"Before I go though... I have one final wish..." I wiped my tears away as she retracted her hand away.  I instinctively grab onto it with both hands,
"Anything" I say as I looked into her brown eyes,
"Take Doctor Ace... I've developed him to help others, and adapt to humans..." she says as she grabs the golden tiny cube and throws it onto the ground, unleashing Doctor Ace again. 
"What is your wish Master?" He spoke and bowed down,
"You're free now... But you must stay with Zachary and the others until death... Become more human" She says as she slowly dies.  I stand up and look at the heart monitor, almost a flat line... I quickly pick up the tiny bottle and was about to stab it into the IV tube, but stopped.   "1 life for 6" rang in my head, I began to cry even more as I had to make one of the most important decisions of my life.  I hand the bottle to Doctor Ace and began to mourn on Lena's corpse. 
"Please God!  Have mercy on her!" I cried and looked at the ceiling.  Doctor Ace stood behind me and placed his hand on my shoulder. 
End of Memory

I stumbled back into reality and looked back at the black hooded girl and Lena.  Lena walked over to me and hugged me,
"It's almost time for you to wake up" she says, my eyes began to water as I instantly hugged back. 
"I'm going to miss you!" I commented,
"I'll always be watching over you" she reassured, I look at the black hooded girl, who was smiling from happiness.  Then I heard,
"I love you" Lena smiled, I hugged her even tighter,
"I love you too" I replied.  Then, I woke up back in my bed, with the bright sun shining on me.  I tossed the blanket off me and got up.  I put on my sweater and unlock my door. 
"She was right... it's time to move on..."
