Chapter 17 The Preparations

Ace POV
I clap my hands,
"Alright, training! So we gonna hit the weights? Or are we gonna meditate under a waterfall or..." I ask, underestimating what they meant by "training", Richard laughed, causing me to tilt my head,
"Sorry, but that was funny" he chuckled, before being interrupted by a cough from someone in the group, which sounded like... Conner. 
"Anywho, for your training, your gonna read this bible" he said, tossing me a bible, I caught it, seems easy enough, it's just a regular book,
"Isn't the bible's a really long book" Jack blurted.
"Crap" I cursed,
"But it's not just long!  It's based on true stories" Richard replied with a smile.  I can see Jack and Olivia snickering like children in the back. 
"Now, take your time" Richard smiled, I gave him a fake smile, dying inside,
"Actually don't" Conner called, we both look at him like a villain in the crowds,
"Dr. Umbra is planning something, the more time we take, the more stuff he's gonna do to this world" he explained,
"We gotta hurry" after that, he left the room.  I can hear Jack turn to Zachary,
"So are you the leader?  Or is he really the leader?" He asked, before getting nudged by Olivia.
"we'll give you 2 weeks" Zachary stated, before all of them walked out, except for Richard and Jack.  Richard cleared his throat and turned towards me,
"Well... I guess you gotta read that book in 2 days" he winked, before leaving me.  My eyes widen and jaw dropped,
"I can't take that kind of pressure!  Especially in 2 days!" I thought, then Jack walked up to me,
"Aw it's okay!  You got this" he said, I smiled and looked up at him,
"If you had more time" he laughed, I sock him on the arm and storm out of the room. 
"I got this.  I got this.  This'll be easy." I repeated to myself as I stomped on the ground.  I made it to a desk and started reading,
"Easy!" I muttered.

Timeskip

This isn't easy. I'm only on the book of Deuteronomy! Which is the fifth book, but all it is Is the book of instructions!
"Ugh!" I groaned, resting my body on the table.  I turned my head as I heard someone walking towards me, it was Richard, Ah geez I wonder what else he's got in store for me this time.  He smiled,
"I see you're having fun" he joked, I frowned,
"No!  How is this even training?!" I ask standing up and getting in his face,
"Who even is god?" Richard didn't even respond, he just stared into my eyes.  After awhile he sighed,
"Seems I have to use this technique again" he stated, I have no idea what he means, but I assume he's going to fight me.  Cause he gets into a fighting stance, looks like some karate or kicking stance,
"Enough of this, I'll train on my own if you're not gonna help" I snap, grabbing his shoulder roughly.  Shouldn't have done that, cause next thing I know, he calmly, but swiftly pushed my chest with his fingers, causing me to get knocked back.  But the weird thing was... I looked translucent with a golden aura, and I could see my body fall to the ground, Wait!
"See?  If you read the entire bible, I can teach you techniques like this" Richard explained, I was too busy looking at my hands to notice.  I try to touch my hands but I end up phasing them through each other,
"Time for a little trip like in the book of Job" he stated, looking directly at me, Wait he can see me?  Next thing I know, I've been sent to another place, I look around to find a giant forest with no life in sight, that's weird...
"Welcome to Where it all began!" Richard shouted, I look around, but didn't see him.  What does he mean by "where it all began"?  Suddenly, I see tall trees fall in front of me, I shield myself with my arms but I phased right through them.
"Don't worry, you are a spirit, this cannot hurt you" Richard reassured, I sigh with relief and looked at what was in front of me.  I gasped when I saw it, it was a giant blue Phoenix on the ground in pain!  I ran over to it to see if it was okay,
"What are you?" I wondered, even though I knew exactly what it was.  I reached out and felt it's wings, it didn't hurt cause I was a spirit.  Then I noticed some dark black spikes on it's back,
"That's weird... I don't recall Phoenixes having dark spikes" I murmured, then I stopped being a Jack Teaser and put the pieces together.
"The Phoenix was taken down by something even more dangerous, but what?" I wonder, then I heard a unusual, but loud roar faraway, sending shockwaves towards me,
"Dragon" I blurted, scared. My thoughts were interrupted by a man wearing some animal skin running over to the Phoenix to see what happened. He seemed worried, and started using nearby branches to pry out the big spikes out it. Once one came out, I realized that it was a tooth, I then hear the same roar, but it was closer than before. The man seemed scared, but he continued to work. I simply just watched because I couldn't do anything even if I wanted to. Once he was done, he looked at the Phoenix and smiled. Then the roar was heard again, but this time trees in the distance weren't being knocked down, they were being disintegrated, The man looked back at the Phoenix and motioned it to fly away. The Phoenix stood up and stood behind the man, transferring it's powers to the man, The blue Phoenix had disappeared and had became one with the man. The man hovered in the air for a few seconds, then came back down. Blue fire emitted from his arms, and fire sprouted from his back. Just like my dad... wait!
"Don't tell me..." I gasped,
"Yep, this is how it all began..." Richard replied,
"Introducing! The Mind Phoenix" he called. I stared in shock as the man's eyes were covered by erupting blue fire. After that, he reached out for a weapon and received a branch and one of the dark teeth, forming a spear with a fiery tip. Then he started to fly towards the dragon ahead and that was that! I came back into my body, into the real world I mean. Richard helped me up,
"Welcome back" he greeted, holding out his hand, I grab it and pull myself up,
"I'm sorry" I apologized,
"Don't mention it" Richard smiled,
"Please teach me!" I begged,
"I'll do it once you completed the Bible" he reminded, Oh right. I turned around and sat back down. I continued to read the book, it actually started getting interesting, maybe this'll help me write my book. Man, I wonder what Jack's doing right now?
