Chapter 8 The Helper

3rd Person POV

The group is walking up a mountain in hopes of finding a long lost friend,
"Are We There Yet?" Jack whined,
"You've been saying that for the past 20 minutes!"  Olivia yelled in an angry tone, Sophia looked back at her and placed her hand on Olivia's shoulder,
"Love, you can rest here if you want" she insisted,
"No, no it's fine Sophia... I just, I just wanna find him already and get this over with" Olivia responded wiping her eyes, Sophia nodded and turned around.

A Few minutes later...

"We're HEERRE!" Sophia echoed standing in front of a fence with a barn.
"Where are we exactly?" Ace asked as he looked at the mountains around.
"We're at Conner's house love, why do you ask?"  Sophia answered as she walked to the door on the barn, Olivia grunted loudly like she was a child.  Sophia ignored her and knocked on the door,
"CONNER!!!  It's Sophia, and I brought some friends with me" she yelled, and the door opened,
"What do you want Woman?!" The man in the dark shouted,
"Well that's rude to say to your guests, isn't it?" Sophia responded.
"Come on out!  Let the people see what you look like" Sophia demanded, and the man stepped out of the darkness and into the light.  The man had tan white skin, long dark dusty brown hair, plant green eyes, chapped lips, a claw mark scar on the side of his neck,  and wore the same hoodie as Olivia and Sophia did accompanied with torn black pants.
"This is Conner?" Jack asked,
"Yeah.  What's up?" Conner asked, crossing his arms.
"Nice scar!  And what kind of animal gave you that?"  Olivia asked, staring at Conner's neck,
"A spartan bear, darn bastard fought dirty" Conner answered tilting his neck to the right. 
"What's a spartan bear?" Ace asked,
"Spartan bears are a 7 foot tall bear, and are extremely agile and strong" Doctor Ace explained.
"Alright!  Cut the Crap!  Did you just come here to talk or do you actually need something from me?" Conner demanded as he uncrossed his arms, it started to rain to improve the scene, Sophia cleared her throat and stepped up,
"Conner, we need you to take us to your uncle" Sophia stated with confidence,
"Uhg!  I was hoping you'd say that!  Fine!  I'll take you to find my Uncle Sam" Conner said wiping his eyes in annoyance.
"Wherever He is" he muttered,
"Yes!" Sophia yelled as she celebrated, Conner started to chuckle, then laugh hysterically, Sophia stopped and stared at him,
"What's wrong?"  She asked in confusion, Conner stopped and said in a laughing manner,
"You always did act like a child" Sophia puffed her cheeks and just grumbled,
"Let's just go already." As they all started to make their way down the mountain.

Timeskip

The group is now in the forest called, "Enchanted Eden"
"Are we there yet?" Jack whined with his tongue out,
"You don't even know where we're going" Conner said as he looked back,
"Good Point" Jack replied with curiosity in his voice.  Then Conner stopped and put his hand up,
"What is it?" Ace whispered,
"I sense... Something..." Conner responded and looked around the white blossoming trees,
"Look out!" Conner yelled and everyone ducked as he made a silver revolver appear in his hand and quickly pulled the trigger. The mysterious figure in the air fell straight down. Then, the group ran over towards the squirming figure on the ground.  Doctor Ace turned the body over to see a man with brown snake like eyes, menacingly dark black hair with headphones covered in dirt and mud, wearing the same sweater as the rest of the group, and thick black pants, he wore clothing similar to Conner. Everyone instantly recognized who it was right then and there,
"Zachary!!"  Everyone except Jack and Ace yelled,
"Heh... h-h-hey... everyone..." Zachary Winced with a smile,
"Great!  Now I wish I didn't accept the offer"  Conner grumbled,
"Oh, hey Conner... I see you're *Cough* *Cough* still as lame as I remembered" Zachary laughed.  Conner rolled his eyes and looked around the trees,
"Doctor Ace!  Can you fix him?"  Olivia asked in a calm tone.  Doctor Ace walked over to the injured Zachary and scanned him,
"He has a bullet in his abdomen, I can't treat him here" Doctor Ace explained.
"My camp's... over... there" Zachary groaned while pointing to his campsite.
"Well don't just stand there! Let's go!" Jack commanded and Doctor Ace dashed as fast as he could as the others tried to follow him. When they all got to Zachary's campsite Doctor Ace placed Zachary on a wooden table. Doctor Ace then walks over to a camp fire and grabs his sword and heats it up over the fire. Then, he walks over to Zachary and says,
"I'm going to grab that bullet out and squeeze your body together and place my heated blade on it alright?" Doctor Ace asked Zachary.  Zachary nodded and gulped,
"Alright here we-" Doctor Ace said as he turned his finger into extractors but stopped, as he saw that the wound had disappeared.  But for a second, Doctor Ace noticed a black substance that was covering Zachary's wound.  Similar to the Grim Shadow's.  Zachary got up from the table,
"Ah... thanks doc!" He thanked and walked to the group.  Jack walked over to Doctor Ace,
"So how'd it go?" Jack asked, Doctor Ace still shocked at what he saw, tried to say,
"I-I-It's him... Zachary's the..."
"The what?  The man you just saved" Conner joked as he walked over.  Doctor Ace put his arms around Jack and Conner and whispered something to them. 
"Dude!  No way!  I'm gonna tell the others." Jack blurted as he bolted to the group who was talking around the campfire, but Conner grabbed the back of Jack's yellow shirt, pulled him back, flipped him around and said,
"Don't! Because the second you do that... it's game over! You think it's all fun, but once you tell the others, you can't rewind time and make them forget it." Jack for once, actually listened and stayed put. He looked at the others, then at Conner,
"Well... can I least shoot him if he ever turns on us?"
He asked Conner,
"Make that two." Conner smirked. Ace walked over to the three,
"Hey guys, you ready to go? Zachary decided to go with us." He asked,
"Yeah, we'll be right there." Conner replied, Ace nodded and walked back to the group, mostly towards Olivia,
"Let's make a promise, tell no one." Conner demanded, the two nod and they all go to the group.
