Layka's POV

I woke up the next morning with a small chest pain. I shook it off by taking a shower and putting on what ever shit I found, which consisted of a Beatles t-shirt and some volleyball shorts.

I absolutely hated my appearance. I had light brown hair that stopped to my waist, I was very small standing at 5'4, I had grey eyes with a green aura to it, I had no curves what so ever, but the one thing I did like about myself was my personality. I am very optimistic, I like looking towards the positive side of things. When there is problem, I don't know which side to take because I like seeing both sides of the story.

I grabbed my black converse and my phone. I made my way to Del's coffee place and greeted everybody I knew.

"Hey Layka. How are you feeling?" Del was making her way towards my table.

"I'm feeling better."

She asked me how I was feeling after the accident yesterday and how hot the guy at the hospital was. Just then her phone started ringing. She gave me an apologetic look and answered it.

"Hello?" She gave me a confused look because it might have been a wrong call.

As she was processing what they were telling her on the other line, she looked at me and smiled. I gave her a funny look as if asking her what was going on. She put her hand on the speaker and said,"This is for you." I grabbed the phone from her and put it in my ear.

"Yes?"

"Layka, it's me Tyler."

My heart skipped a beat. How did he get Del's number? Then again she gave him my address and probably her number if he needed anything. But then again, why is he calling me?

"That's me. What do you need?"

There was a long pause but then he answered,"You left your books in my car last night. I didn't have a chance to give them to you and I thought I'd call this number since I don't have yours."

I was wondering what books I had forgotten and then I remembered the book about legends.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I guess I should go pick them up somewhere."

He chuckled,"Yeah. You know a cafeteria a block away from your friend's coffee place?"

"Yeah. When do I go?" Del wiggled her eyebrows at this and I smacked her arm.

"How about in ten? I don't live far from that area."

"I'll be there as soon as I can."

I hung up and handed Del her phone. Of coarse she asked what he told me but since I knew she is a little nosy so I just told her I'd tell her later. I said my goodbyes and headed towards the cafeteria. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous but the thought of being near him made me shake a little.

It wasn't long until I saw him. My heart beat accelerated and I had to take deep breaths to calm myself down. I walked slowly but I guess he heard me because he looked up and smiled. He looked much better than he did yesterday after I woke up.

"Hi Layka."

"Hi."

He looked at me for a moment, as if searching for something, but then looked away. I could see something was bothering him but I didn't want to be nosy so I just sat down. We sat there in silence for a minute, trying to figure out what to talk about. What do you talk about when a stranger saves your life?

"How's you injury?" He pointed at the side of my head. I guess that was something we could talk about.

"It's getting better," I said immediately grabbing my patch.
