Layka's POV

I was currently pacing my room. Del came over to do my hair and my make-up. Honestly, I thought I looked okay for my figure.

She puffed up my hair, making me look older, she also put foundation and concealer because I haven't been sleeping well and I have bags under my eyes which makes me look paler. She applied mascara and eye liner, curving it just at the end.

I wore some red six inch heels that were killing my feet. I'm dumping them when I have the chance. When I finally gained the confidence I needed I grabbed my keys and the invitation and headed to my car. The party was going to be in a country club just a little away from Pineville and I spent a summer there for an intern ship but that was about it.

The place wasn't far from where I lived. I arrived in around twenty minutes. I felt so out of place though. All these people were fancy and rich, the women with their designer dress and the men with their fancy suits. I sighed and walked in knowing I'd never be up to their league.

As I entered the place I got this feeling in my chest that something bad was going to happen to me. I walked to a table that was reserved for Mrs.McQueen and several other people.

As I walked to the table, I saw the one person I'd never think to see again. Tyler. He was looking straight at me with those amazing blue eyes. I was nervous because ever since I met him I felt a little attracted to him. Every time I'm near him, I feel a sense of vulnerability and that scares me.

There was only one chair left and that was next to him. There was a beautiful girl sitting next to him on his other side. She had long brown hair that was cascading down her waist in curls, light fair skin, and amazing blue eyes, just like his.

"Hey there!" I was startled that the brunette was talking to me.

I half smiled,"Um, hi."

"Don't be shy! I'm Christine Hamilton. Your not Erika McQueen, are you?"

"No, I'm Layka Altidore. I'm one of her students. She couldn't make it so I came in her place."

I could see she was shocked to hear my last name. Sometimes I do get that reaction but it doesn't really affect me. She recomposed herself and then smiled.

"I like your name. It's so original. I'm this dork's sister by the way."

She patted Tyler's arm and he rolled his eyes. His eyes met mine with a twinkle.

"Hey Layka."

"Hi Tyler." I could see the amused look on Christine's face from the corner of my eye. We stared at each other for a brief moment but I looked away finding it very awkward.

I could feel his eyes burning through me. I felt slightly uncomfortable so I excused myself to the restroom. Fuck, I couldn't even sit next to the guy. Once I got in there, I looked at myself in the mirror. God, what is happening to me? Why did I feel in need of being around him when I've only known him for three bloody days?! I recomposed myself and headed back to my table. I saw that Christine and Tyler were talking about something but they immediately hushed when they saw me coming.

I didn't know Christine much but I could tell she was very mischievous. That was written all over her face. Why did I have the feeling that Del and Christine would get along very well?

"Layka, would you like to dance with me?"

I looked at Tyler with eyes the size of soccer balls. Out of all the girls he could dance with, he chose me? My heart did a little somersault.

"Uh, sure," I said, my voice shaky.

He grabbed my hand and walked me to the dance floor. To be real, I was a terrible dancer. At prom, I stepped on Aaron's feet in every song we danced together. He said it was fine but I felt very embarrassed. Let's just say that was the last time I danced for any type of event.

I took hold of his hand while I placed my hand on his shoulder. I felt tingles when he placed his hand on my waist. Even though I was wearing heels I was still shorter than him. I didn't want to look at him, I felt that if I did I would do whatever he told me to do.

"What's wrong?" Tyler was looking down at me with such a gleam in his eyes, that it would make any girl shiver.

"Huh? Oh sorry. I guess I'm distracted."

He smiled and whispered in my ear,"I think you look beautiful."

My breath hitched. How is it that he has this type of power that makes me feel weak? Whatever this is, I don't like it. I stared at him dumbstruck, not really knowing what to say.

"I'm sorry."

"For what?" I was utterly confused at his sudden apology. From what I know, he hasn't done anything to me but make me want to kiss him all over.

"For leaving you standing that day we encountered Liam. I was angry that you had to meet him that way,and well, I took it out on you."

"It's okay," I said while giving him a reassuring smile.

"Let me make it up to you."

That's when the song finished. I could see some disappointment run through his eyes. I quickly walked back to the table but I was getting a feeling that I was being watched, which was really scary. Tyler rapidly caught up and walked me back to the table, his sister was giving us a funny look but she just winked at me.

A waiter came our way and gave us champagne. I usually don't drink but it's a party so I have nothing to lose. I took a sip of the champagne and suddenly I felt dizzy, and my vision started to blur. I excused myself saying I needed fresh air. I could tell Christine was worried because she wanted to come with me but I said it was fine. I needed to be alone and just breathe.

I started having the same chest pains I had when I had my accident. My breathing was uneven and I felt like my feet were going to give out any minute. I didn't know what was going on but I didn't like it one bit.

"Hello bella. What a delight to see you again."

I couldn't see who it was but I knew it was Liam. His voice alone had the power to frighten me. I also remembered Tyler's warning. To stay away from him because he was dangerous. I tried moving but I felt weak. I don't know how or when but I was pinned to the wall. I didn't like how this was going.

"What, what are you doing?" I asked in a whisper. I was afraid.

"Something I've been wishing to do ever since I met you." He placed his nasty hands on my hips and leaned in to try to kiss me.

I was trying to fight back but I felt like my body was just going to give out even if I blinked. Then Liam's eyes turned bright gold. I didn't know what to do. Why the hell are his eyes bright gold?

He was kissing on my neck and I hated it. I then placed my hand on his neck trying to push him away but his eyes turned black and felt my own being covered with black clouds.

He was running with very ease. I could feel it. So much greed was going through his veins. I could hear everything he was thinking. It was a girl, he wanted a girl.

She doesn't belong to him and he knows that but there is something different about her that any wolf would go crazy for.

I snapped out of the vision when I heard something growl. Liam immediately came off me and growled at, to my surprise, Tyler.

"Get off her!" Tyler looked so scary. He was shaking and breathing heavily. His fists were clenched to the pointed where his veins were popping out.

"She is not yours. I want her."

Then Tyler just turned into a wolf like nothing. What the fuck?! This can not be happening to me. How is this possible? All the images from my nightmares came running through my head. My head started to feel light from all the things that were overwhelming me.

I felt someone's hand on my arm. I flinched and looked to see who was touching me. It was Christine. A sense of relief went over me.

"Come with me. You'll be safe."

I nodded feeling it was the only option I had. She asked the valet for her car and it came in the speed of lighting. I sat in the back because I needed more room to pass out on.

I slowly went to sleep but still remembering what Tyler had just turned into. A beast I have been fearing ever since I've been having those crazy dreams.

A werewolf.
