Layka's POV
Everything was going by smoothly this week. I worked with Del at her coffee place to keep myself distracted. Tyler had to go back to the pack house to take care of some of his pack duties or something.
Colton stopped by a couple of times this week to visit Del and I thought it was actually pretty cute. He even got to meet Aaron, who was not too fond of him when he found out he was Tyler's friend. I now know that Colton is Del's mate. I had to take that piece of information out of him.
I was just cleaning a table close to the window when I started shacking. Outside was Liam walking carelessly. I started shaking terribly this time and when I noticed my reflection on the mirror I was worried. My eyes weren't their usual grey but gold. I shut them and sat down.
"Del call Tyler."
She immediately stopped what she was doing,"Why? Are you okay?"
"Just call him. Please."
She hurried behind the counter and called him. Just when I was trying to forget about that day, he comes along and makes that day replay in my head. I gripped tightly on the back of the chair and took a deep breath. I heard a snap and opened my eyes. I broke the chair and saw as the little chunks of that chair fell to the floor.
I looked at my reflection in the window and my eyes were turning from gold to black. Crap, this is bad. Delilah can't see me like this. I ran to the restroom and looked the door. If Del gets close to me, I feel like I'm going to rip her to shreds and I have a feeling Colton and Aaron aren't going to take that lightly especially Colton.
I heard the door bang and I knew it was Del. I can't let her in, no matter how much I want to take my anger out on her. I rested my hands on the edge of the sink and breathed in and out. I once again saw my reflection in the little mirror and saw that my incisor were longer than usual. As a matter of fact almost all my teeth were larger than usual. Oh crap, I'm shifting.
The door banged again,"Layka are you okay? I'm really worried. I just called Tyler and he said he'd be on his way."
"Go away," I growled. I didn't even recognize myself anymore.
Just when I was about to punch the mirror. The door busted open and Tyler came in looking frantic. Colton was taking Delilah away so I wouldn't hurt her. Tyler walked up to me and took me in his arms. I smelled in his scent and immediately relaxed.
"What happened Layka?"
I felt my throat dry up just thinking about it. I let out a low growl and Tyler tightened his grip on me. I was about to cry but I wasn't going to let it happen, I wasn't to let it get to me.
"Layka baby, what happened?"
"Liam, he was outside the coffee shop."
He stiffened. I knew he would react like this. I placed my hand to the side of his neck and felt him physically relax.
"Did he do anything to you?"
I shook my head,"No, I was worried for Delilah. I could've hurt her. I just couldn't control my wolf anymore."
"Don't worry. It's a good thing you told her to call me and locked yourself in."
I shook my head and he lead me outside to the chair that I broke. I'm going to have to pay Del back for that. I noticed that Colton nor Del were here.
"Where did Colton take Del?"
He sighed,"He told me he was going to have to tell her about us. She saw you when I opened the door. You were on the verge of shifting."
"This is all my fault."
He grabbed my face with both of his hands and made me look at him,"This is not your fault. Your wolf lost control, yes but it was because it wanted to kill Liam. It wasn't your fault. Delilah would have to find out sooner or later."
He gave me a hug and I let myself just forget about it a little. I really didn't want Del to find out I'm a werewolf like this. While we were hugging, we heard the familiar ring of the bell from the door. Colton came in with a unconscious Del in his arms. Tyler and I immediately stood.
"What happened to her?" I asked while walking up to them.
"She fainted. I told her that we are werewolves and that's why you reacted like that when you saw Liam."
I nodded,"Did you tell her you're her mate."
"No. I plan to when she wakes up."
"We have to take her to the pack house. It's the least we can do right now."
We agreed and headed to Tyler's car. Colton took the back with Del still in his arms. It hurt to see my best friend like this. She's going through the exact same thing I did. Once we reached the house, Colton took Del to his room and all we had to do is wait for her to regain consciousness. I called Aaron and told him Del would be sleeping at my place.
With all this, Tyler made me shower and relax for a little moment. When I finished showering, I sat down on the bed and hugged my knees close to my chest and sighed. My life sucks, I couldn't even protect my best friend. All because of Liam. Oh god how I want to rip his throat out.
Just then Tyler came in and gave me a reassuring smile. He sat next to me and pulled me closer to him. He kissed the side of my head. At least I have him to comfort me when I need him the most.
"When do you think Del is gonna wake up?"
He shrugged,"I don't know. She didn't take it that well and honestly I wouldn't either if I found out my best friend is a werewolf."
I groaned,"I feel like a terrible person."
"It wasn't your fault. I'm sure she'll understand when she finds out why you're a werewolf. Now come on and rest, you need it."
He kissed my temple tucked me to bed like a little girl. He disappeared to the bathroom and I assumed he was going to shower himself. Just when I was about fall asleep I felt the spot behind me sink. I felt his arm wrap around my waist and push me to his chest. I got closer and then I fell asleep.
