Chapter 13

Layka's POV

Tyler was driving us to the pack house and it was so boring. He didn't want me to turn on the radio because he said I knew every song and that it was annoying. This was my response:

"Oh but you love me."

He rolled his eyes and turned the radio on. Finally, some fun. Just when one of my favorite songs came in we arrived. Turn down man. We got out and a guy was waiting for us. He was very good looking, standing at 6'1, strong jaw line, light brown hair, blue eyes, and very muscular.

"Hello you must be Layka. I'm Colton, Tyler's beta."

I extended my hand to shake his,"Nice to meet you."

We entered the house and headed to Tyler's office. We sat down and then immediately everything turned serious.

"So we have to talk about the day you got attacked by Liam. This can not go without notice."

Crap, I was just forgetting about that day and now I have to remember it. I ran my hand through my hair and sighed.

"Well, I was in the house and then I heard something inside. I panicked and ran outside. It was stupid of me but I ran. Shortly after I heard him running behind. Well, then I guess you already know the rest."

Once I finished I saw Tyler's eyes go black. Great, now he was angry. I hate it when he gets angry. I got up and went to his side to hold his hand.

"Calm down you dumbass. It already happened. I'm alive."

"Yeah but you died. I almost lost you."

"You know what, I leave you two to talk about whatever. I have to head to Del's to help her around. If you need anything just come by. Oh and you can bring Colton with you."

I left and headed to Del's. When I arrived, she didn't look like her cheery self. I went behind the counter and gestured for her to sit while I worked. Shortly after, she joined me so it won't be much of a hassle for me.

I was just handing an old man his change and latte when I heard the doorbell ring. It was Tyler accompanied by Colton. Del was about to do her little welcome but when she spotted Colton her expression changed.

"What are you doing here?" Del looked confused as hell just like Colton.

"I came with Tyler. What are you doing here?" Colton looked both shocked but happy to see her.

I raised a brow,"You two know each other?"

"I met Delilah yesterday at some club."

What a small world? This is why I hate living in a small town. I think Delilah remembered the events from last night and her expression changed. Then I noticed Colton have a regretful look on his face as he gazed at Del.

"Why don't you two sit down and have some coffee while I take care of the place. You need the brake anyways, plus the place doesn't get busy till 4."

She nodded and gestured for Colton to follow her. While they did that I made two vanilla frappés and gave them to Colton and Del. I went back behind the counter and Tyler sat in one of the high chairs that was located in front of the counter.

"So what do you think is up with those two?" I asked while eating one of the cake pops I grabbed.

"I'm not sure, but I think Colton just found his mate."

I stopped mid bite and looked at Tyler wide eyed. Is he serious? Delilah is mate's with Tyler's beta. What has this world turned into?

"Really?" I asked while looking at Colton and Del. Well they didn't make a bad couple either. They looked perfect for each other come to think of it.

"I think so."

I took another bite of my cake pop and nodded. Tyler and I are mates, Christine and Aaron are mates, and now Delilah is possibly mated to Colton. Is that even possible? But at the same time I was happy for my friend. She would finally move on, even though it happened like yesterday, and be truly happy with the one she belongs.

I glanced once again at Del and Colton and saw as she laughed at something Colton said while he smiled at her reaction. I sighed and took a bite of my cake pop. I heard Tyler snort in front of me and I gave him a glare. Well I'm sorry but I'm one of those cheesy romantics.

"What's so funny Tyler?"

He chuckled,"It's funny how when you and I met, you wouldn't even give me a smile. And Colton is actually making his mate laugh."

I stuck my tongue at him,"That's because I knew you were a werewolf. Del has no idea what he is, what we are. I don't know Tyler, I think we are gonna have to tell her sooner or later."

Tyler got up and went behind the counter with me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder.

"I know but I think Colton will tell her when he thinks it's right. But now you owe me some us time."

I raised a brow,"Oh really?"

"Yeah. I'm still not over the whole Alec thing. You owe me big time."

I laughed and turned around so I could face him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled. God, why does he have to be so gorgeous? Never would I think to have someone this special and beautiful in my life. I haven't been this happy since my father died.

"Layka, have I ever told you that I love you?"

"I don't recall," I said while pretending to think about it.

He smiled,"Well, I love you. I love you with all my being. There is no day I don't think about you and I hate being away from you."

"I love you too."

His smile grew and he started leaning in. It's almost an instinct for me to lean too and then our lips met. His lips are soft and warm. When he licked my bottom lip for entrance I almost obliged but then I heard someone clear their throat behind us.

Tyler and I departed and saw Delilah giving us a disapproving look. I saw from the corner of my eye as Colton winked at Tyler and he only chuckled.

"If you too are gonna make out please don't let it be on my counter."

I blushed and Tyler laughed, again. I punched his arm and then went to the cabinets to grab two aprons. I tossed one to Tyler and the other to Colton. They both gave me a confused look but I only winked.

"What is this for?" Tyler asked while trying to figure out how the apron goes.

"You two will help me and Del around here. Don't think you can just come here and disturb our working environment. You two are in charge of cleaning and taking orders while we make the drinks and watch you two."

They gave me an 'are you serious?' look but I only shrugged. They got to work and it was actually amusing to watch them work especially when it got busy. Once it was ready to close and they were mopping the floor, they got in a big fight because apparently Tyler wet Colton's jeans on purpose. Let's just say Del and I were the ones to clean up their mess.

Once Tyler and I arrived home we plopped on the couch, exhausted. He didn't even feel like showering but I made him or else he would have to sleep on the couch. Once everything was settled I got ready for bed. I was about to turn the light switch off but when my hand came in contact, the lights started flickering and and a fizzy sound.

I took my hand away and the lights went back to normal. I looked at Tyler and he had the same expression as me. I once again touched the switch and the lights started flickering again and the fizzy sound came back. I looked at my hand and it looked like electric currents were running through my hand.

I turned the light off and sat beside him. I looked at my hands once again. This was weird and I know I have to tell my granny about it. But right now I have to sleep.

"Don't worry about me Tyler, I'll be fine."

He gave me an uncertain look,"Are you sure?"

I gave him a reassuring smile and covered my self with the blanket. Tyler follow and then shortly after we fell asleep. Before I fell asleep I had a vision of myself using my newly found powers .
