Prologue

PROLOGUE

In a world full of humans, it's hard to keep your identity a secret.

Here's Lexy, Mrs. CUPID 💘. She lives in a small town in Mexico. And just like every other town, it seems, on the outside, like a normal city. But, oh, you're so wrong. Every town has those hidden secrets, exactly like every individual. Just like Santa Claus has to give the human race gifts if they have been on a good behavior, like Mrs. Tooth Fairy has to give out money in exchange of a tooth, like Easter Bunny hides eggs, like the leprechaun steals money, Lexy shoots arrows 🏹 to make people fall in love.

As all of you know, God associates people and attracts them to each other. But, folks, what you know, is soo wrong. He just plays the match-maker between two humans, but he doesn't make them fall in love. There's, of course, bonds between lovers, but not powerful enough to make them madly in love.

And, the idea of them being so madly in love that they can't live without each other is, my friends, the Cupid's work, or in other terms, Lexy's work.

Imagine being a girl, stranded alone with no family, nor any trace of your ancestors, who has to get all the humans to fall in love. Hard, right? Yeahh, difficult is what you call Lexy's life.

Lexy is a normal girl, well, in everyone's eyes. She has been keeping a tiny secret. THAT SHE'S CUPID. Well, it's not that hard to hide since everyone believes that God is the one that has the responsibility of imitating Cupid. Strangely, they believe that Cupid is just a Greek Legend.

She goes to the University, and she has a best friend, named Caitlyn. You know, how best friends share everything with each other, even the darkest tiniest secrets? Well, in this case, you strictly can't. Caitlyn has no clue about Lexy's secret.

Lexy searches for people that aren't in a relationship. She doesn't shift into a baby angel or anything; she just grows her wings and prepares her arrows. She searches for people who found the love of their life but aren't attracted to them and she shoots them, and TA-DAA, they fall madly in love. It seems easy, but imagine having to take care of millions of people's love lifes. Not to mention, she's still a teenage girl. However, she never thought about the people in other countries.

One day, she was watching TV with Caitlyn, when she heard that in Hawaii a CEO is killing every single person who doesn't obey his orders and has already murdered a large number of humans. She also heard that the number of divorces is getting bigger and nobody seems to find his real love. They think that it's something psychological; that they are not finding their real soulmate. However, it's not in all the countries, just in a couple of them, like Hawaii, Indonesia, Russia...

After hearing about this, Lexy knew that she had to do something; she had to travel to these countries and make the couples fall in love,technically, her job. But what she didn't know was that her emotions and feelings won't be safe.

Nowhere was safe... when the strongest CEO is around...
