Chapter 19

Suddenly, Xander looked up. Lexy instantly flew and hid herself behind clouds.

In the meantime, Xander could have sworn that he saw a gigantic bird but he didn't think much about it. He was thinking about Lexy's phone, and how it got here.

There wasn't a logical explanation other than she forgot it in the car. It was already on the verge of falling, and when he called her it vibrated and fell to the ground. Like when you put your phone on the edge of a table, and it vibrates, then it falls.

Then, he remembered why he was calling her in the first place, he wanted to tell her to come to his place on Saturday since she accepted being friends with him. He was heads over heels in love with her, and he would take any chance to meet up with her.

Lexy's phone was literally destroyed, the screen was smashed in a horrible way and it wasn't working. He felt so sorry for her, of course there was many important things on her phone, and there was no way that she could get them back. Unless she backed them up. I mean, who could live without a phone?

'She's probably searching for it right now, I should go give it back to her. I have to get ready for an ear piercing scream.' Xander thought.

And with that, Xander got in his car and drove back to where Lexy lives.

"Oh, shoot," Lexy said guessing that he's going back to hers. "I should fly to the condo before he gets there, and change into comfy clothes."

She flied as fast as she could, a speed she never reached before. Her white wings were reflecting the sun-rays but she made sure she flew far away from the population, she didn't want to get caught.

She landed in her garden, folded her wings until they disappeared. Lexy made her way to the back door, fumbled with her keys until the door cracked open. She sprinted to her room and changed into a big hoody and sweatpants and sat on the couch waiting to see if Xander was really coming to her house.

After a while, the doorbell rang and Xander was there looking at Lexy with a worried look.
She gave him a confused look and asked "What is it?"
"I f-found your phone. You forgot it in my car. I'm so sorry, it's ... well, uhh,... broken?"
Lexy would have laughed at him if her phone wasn't broken and she had to act like she didn't spy on him at all.

Xander took the phone out of his pocket and gave it to Lexy.
"I'm so sorry. I'll replace it don't worry," he said
"It's okay, really." Lexy said, taking the phone from his hands.

"I also wanted to ask you if you'd like to come to mine on Friday, we could watch netflix, you can bring your friend that works with you, Selena?" He said with hope evident in his voice.
"I-I actually have work on Friday, sorry"
"I'm sure I can talk to my father and get him to give you a day off." He said with a wink.
Lexy smiled and said "sure", though she was feeling very guilty because she didn't tell Aiden about anything, but she will tell him, soon.

Sunday came, and Lexy woke up early to surprise Aiden with breakfast. She needed to talk to him about the phone call and Xander. She had to plan his birthday surprise too.

After making eggs, bacon and pancakes, Aiden finally woke up and went to the kitchen.

"Good morning love" He smiled, planting a kiss on Lexy's forehead.
"Hey" She said "We need to talk".
"Sure" he said, sitting on one of the kitchen's counter stool "What do we need to talk about?''

Lexy sat down on a stool in front of him and took a deep breath before she started talking.
"So, the other day when you went out because you had to work late, you forgot your phone here, and someone called you and I picked it up." She said with a small voice. Aiden's jaw clenched and he tensed when she mentioned someone calling him.
"I-It was a m-man a-a-and he said something about d-dru-drugs."

Aiden replied, not showing any sign of remorse, "I should've told you before, and I'm sorry about it but I just wanted to keep you away from all the danger and I didn't want this problem to get between us." he said, stopping for a moment, "I'm the leader of a cartel."

Lexy froze in front of him, then she burst out laughing.
"I-I c-can't even-" she said through laughs.

"I'm dead serious,"Aiden said with a straight face.
Lexy stopped laughing and froze again "w-whaaa-?"
Aiden didn't answer, he just looked at the wall and nodded.

Everything that Xander said to Lexy before started to make sense, Aiden was a dangerous man, and she was in danger, she might get kidnapped at any moment. Though, she couldn't leave Aiden, he accepted her when she told him her secret.

"Look, I'll try to find another thing to do. And if you can't deal with it right now, we can take a break. I'll give you some time to think about it." Aiden said and got up from the stool.

"No! You can't just throw this shit on me and leave like I don't have a problem with it! You said you didn't want it to come in between us but it did. Look at that!" Lexy let out all of her anger. Aiden stopped in his tracks and looked at her straight in the eyes.
"I love you, you know that? But this relationship is toxic if you keep important things for me like that!" she yelled.

"Look who's talking. Don't you think I didn't know you were hanging out with that CEO guy when I wasn't home," Aiden spat.
"Don't bring me into this! I was going to tell you now but you were hiding something far more dangerous and important that me hanging out with a friend!" She paused then continued, "Sit your ass down and tell me everything. And I mean fucking everything!"

Aiden pulled the kitchen chair out while Lexy grabbed a bottle of whiskey and poured in a cup. But she knew it wasn't the right time considering it's story time. She didn't mind though, she couldn't digest the story without the help of a cup or two containing alcohol.
