Present Day

It's been twelve years since I found out about my parents' death. I wish I could say one more thing. I with I didn't run off with Luke. It was the same day I last experienced the Force; nothing similar has happened yet. Every once in a while I have a dream about them, but I don't know what it means.

One of them was which I was in a dark cave and my mother and father were standing there smiling, but they morphed in to one person. This person was unrecognizable; the face was blurry. A light then beamed from the entrance of the cave. The person grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the light, it ended there.

I have also seen visions of a home on Tatooine, but I don't know where it is. These have been very brief, but I certainly remember what it looks like.

I don't know if these dreams mean something or if they're just there like every other random dream. I've literally had dreams of Luke and I making out and living happily ever after. Let's not forget the dream when an Ewok was chasing me in the desert. Some of these may be logical, but for the most part I don't even know.

Anyway, these dreams may mean something. Luke said it's the Force telling me something big will happen, but honestly I'm really tired of him saying "the Force this," and "the Force that." Like, Luke please, experience it yourself. Find the facts yourself. Don't be telling me what will be if you haven't experienced it.

I just woke up in Luke's bed. No no no, it's not what you're thinking. Ever since my parents died and I've been more depressed than usual he's been letting me stay at his home for comfort every once in a while. But really, it's nothing romantic. Luke is just a really caring best friend. He might have thrown in a couple pick-up lines here and there, but I promise it's nothing romantic, at least at the moment.

I walked to the social room where him and his aunt and uncle visit in the mornings. Today was hotter than usual, it's never this hot in the mornings. Luke looked at me and laughed. "Finally you're up! I've been waiting hours!" No wonder I felt so well rested. "What time is it?" His aunt responded with,"three hours past usual." I actually felt bad for not being up early. His aunt and uncle walked away to the kitchen to make me something to eat. "Kat, I had to check in several times to make sure you weren't dead." I gave a grin and said,"well you were keeping me up last night." He stood up and bridged over me. "Sorry, I just like talking to you. It seems like you're the only real person on this planet." I smiled and he grinned. "Let's get dressed now," we walked to his bedroom,"like we were supposed to hours ago." I shoved him into the wall. "I'm just kidding Kat." Luke laughed. "Is that why you're laughing?" He gave me a change of clothes that I always keep at his home. "I'm laughing because you're so sensitive, sometimes just to little jokes." He turned around as I changed my outfit. "Well, that happens sometimes when your parents die at a young age. You see, ever since then, I've been protective and you know it."

After I changed I laid on his bed and closed my eyes so he could change. I couldn't help but peek to see his abs. "I know it's hard for you Katiara, but you can have just a bit of slack for fun." He laid next to me and opened my eyes. "Fun? What's fun anymore? If anything, this planet is a hell. There's no excitement." I turned my head to see his beautiful blue eyes, the ones I remember from twelve years ago.

"We can have some fun today. Wanna go exploring? Scavenging?"

"But it's like, really hot outside. Maybe tonight when it cools down, but we're not going that far."

"Well I wanna be out all day, so we can see if tomorrow morning will be any cooler. Okay?"

"Fine." He sat me up. "But for now I want to just relax and talk." He grabbed my hand. "I know your life hasn't been very easy since your parents went. I just wish you could... understand how thankful I am for you."

"Luke, I know. You don't have to show it. I know I'm the only one to talk to."

"Kat, I want to show it, but I don't know how. I certainly know we don't want to get all lovey dovey on each other, but just know you're my best friend and you will always be right next to me." He grabbed me in a tight hug, his muscular arms strangling my skinny body, and pushed me down on his bed. I hugged back as we rolled around and laughed. We didn't let go for a while. "Lukie Pookie, do you know what would be fun right now?" He let go. "What? And stop calling me that." I tickled his side. "You wish you didn't start this!" Luke tickled my neck and my sides. Tickle fights have always been our favorite. We were shoving each other around for a while until we heard his door open. "Oh! I'm sorry. Kat, I have some food ready for you." It was his aunt. I looked up with my hair in an absolute mess. "Oh, thanks." She set the tray of food on a table by the door. "Crazy kids," she mumbled as she closed the door.

I ate my food at the table in Luke's room. "So Kat, what do you want to do today?"

"Dude, I don't know. I kinda want to go back to my house for a while. I have some chores to do."

"Alright, we can leave here in a few. I can help."

"You don't have t-"

"I want to," we set out just moments later on his landspeeder.
