We approached my house in the desert just a few miles from Luke's home. He helped me out of his landspeeder and assisted me to the door. My home; where I've spent my whole life, where my mother gave me many lectures, where my father taught me life lessons. One of which he told me about love and how you know it's true. I miss hearing him talk about my mother and how he realized he loved her, it sounded like a fairy tale.

When you first walk in to my house you see a hallway leading to the center gathering room. To the right, a kitchen where my mother made lots of goodies for my father and I with a window illuminating the room. To the left, a dining room where we ate every morning and night with another window. The center of the home where the gathering room is, there is some seats for six people and a table. In the back right corner there is a chest filled with games and fun things we used to play with. The back wall is where the bedrooms are. The right half is my room; everything has been in there since I was just a few days old. My bed sits in the far left corner next to a shelf with some things I've collected over the years. I have stuff scattered all over the floor, I haven't had the motivation to clean it. That's how the whole house is, really. I don't feel like there is a point to clean anything, well, besides the dishes. My parents' bedroom is a mystery. I haven't been in there since they passed, and I don't think I will ever go in.

Luke snarled at the sight of the home. "Okay Kat, we're definitely cleaning this up today. I haven't been in here for a few months and I wish I came sooner to help clean."

"Yeah..." I sighed at the sight of a picture laying on the floor shattered. It was a picture of my parents and the extended family. Not one person has tried to come for me after my parents' death. They probably thought I died too.

Luke put his hand on my shoulder and looked at the same picture and sighed. "I'm sorry no one came back for you."

"At least I have you. Thanks for taking care of me all these years."

"Are you kidding?" Luke smiled,"I think you're the one taking care of me. I would be so lost right now, even with my aunt and uncle. And I kinda know what you feel like, even without knowing my real parents it's still difficult. I love my aunt and uncle more than anything, but I'd like to know the real deal."

"Yeah, I get you."

"Now let's start cleaning up. I'll start on the kitchen."

"Okay... I'll start with the dining room." Luke noticed the tone of my voice.

"Hey, Kat. Are you okay? Like, for real. Be honest with me."

"You know I'm not."

He came closer to me and wrapped my body in a tight hug. I put my head on his shoulder and started to cry. Luke escorted me to my room to lay down, he knelled at my bed.

"Do you want to rest for now? I'll clean the house."

"I guess, thanks."

I shoved my face in my pillow and cried even more. Luke took a blanket and covered me with it, then he started to rub my back. He grabbed my hand and rubbed it for a moment. Out of the blue, he kissed it and left.

For once I could sleep calmly in my own bed.
