Since our trip to the beach, me and Joey had been on 5 dates. And tonight, he had a surprise for me.
"Ashli, we're going to a masquerade party", Joey said.
"Really!?" Joey nodded.
"It's hosted by John. And I bought a dress and mask for you. It's on the bed", Joey said. I bolted upstairs and looked at the dress. It was beautiful, along with a mask to match. I put the dress on and walked downstairs.
"You look beautiful", Joey said with a smile. "Thank you. And you look handsome", I said (Joey was wearing a tuxedo). Joey laughed and we walked to our car. Joey started the car and drove to the party.

1 Hour Later...
We arrived at a large mansion where people stood in dresses and tuxedos.
"Who's mansion is this", I asked. "It belongs to John's grandparents, but he was able to use it for the masquerade party tonight, because there's a ton of people here", Joey replied.
"Wow. And John is hosting this gala. Cool", I said. We walked up the stairs that lead into the mansion, where we met John.
"Hey, Joey. Hey, Ashli", John said. Me and Joey said hey and walked in. Two staircases lined the walls of the front room, then their was a large chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. We walked into the living room and sat on the sofa with Ian and John L.
"Hey, Joey and Ashli", they said when we sat down. I waved as Joey said,
"Hey guys." Me and Joey talked for a few minutes before John walked into the living room.
"Hey, dinner is being served in the dining room", John said. We all stood up and walked into the large dining room. There was tables and chairs set up everywhere with a buffet table in the middle of the room, filled with food.
"Where do you want to sit at", Joey asked me. "Uh, that table in the back", I replied, pointing at a table in the back.
"Ok", Joey said. We walked up to the buffet table and made a plate of food. We sat down and ate while we talked.

When me and Joey finished eating, we walked to a room upstairs where people were dancing.
"Want to dance", Joey asked me.
"Sure, why not", I replied as I took my hand into his. We stepped into the room and started dancing. Then, I seen Brandi and Daniel, creeping along the wall.
"Joey, look", I said and pointed at them.
"Let's go", he said and we ran out of the room. "Why are they here", I asked.
"They might be after us", Joey said, "but how did they even know about it?" We walked out onto the lawn, where it poured rain, but we were slightly sheltered.
"Ugh, my hair is going to get ruined", Joey said. "But you look cute when your hair is wet", I said. "And what about your hair", he asked.
"Oh, my hair, it's fine", I said.
"You're right, and your hair looks cute when it's wet", Joey said. I smiled and thought about the day that it had rained and we had played in the rain. It seemed childish, but we all have to have a little fun, right? I shivered as it started to get colder and wind blew.
"Are you cold", Joey asked.
"No, I'm ok", I replied. "Here, take this", Joey said, handing me his tuxedo jacket.
"Thanks", I said and put it on. I looked at Joey, who's mystical eyes shone in the dark.
"Hey, Joey, instead of staying out here in the rain, can we get in the car", I asked.
"Of course", Joey said and walked to the car. We sat in silence for 15 minutes before I asked a question.
"Joey, when we met at the bar and Brandi was mad at you for talking to me, you broke up with her because you said that she cheated on you. What did you mean?"
"Well, can I tell you about how we met and stuff", Joey asked. I nodded.
"Me and Brandi met at a party about a year ago. We were introduced by a friend of mine and a cousin of Brandi's. We went on dates and got to know each other when I decided that I wanted her to be my girlfriend. But, about three months into our relationship, she started cheating on me. I caught her multiple times cheating on me out in public! After catching her sleeping with another man in our bed, that was it. After that, we had an on-off relationship. But, the day before I met you at the bar, she told me that she needed a new boyfriend because she thought I didn't show her enough affection. But, she went on one last date with me at Chillerz. But, she still loves me and wants me back", Joey said.
"Do you still love her", I asked.
"No. Not trying to sound mean, but I always thought that she was a love chaser ", Joey replied. I giggled at that. I had heard Europe's song Love Chaser before. And I instantly knew what Joey meant by Brandi being a love chaser.
"But, then I met you. And I knew that when I first seen you, you was perfect for me", Joey said. "Wait, what", I asked.
"Yes, I loved you at first sight", Joey replied with a smile. I smiled. Knowing that a rockstar loved me at first sight made me happy.
"Well, I wanted to ask how did you and Daniel meet", Joey asked.
"It was in high school. The graduating class had a party and that's where we met. We went on dates and went to a parties. And then he came to live with me. But he was always abusive. I don't know why I stayed in the relationship. I was stupid for staying there with him. But before that, he was always nice." I paused for a moment.
"Is everything ok", Joey asked.
"Yeah, I was just remembering how nice Daniel used to be", I replied.
"He even proposed to me. But I said no", I said. "Why?" I sighed.
"Because he was abusive", I replied.
"Oh. I can see why he got mad at you for talking to me then." I nodded slowly.
"Hey, do you want to go back inside", Joey asked. "Sure", I said. So, we stepped out of the car, into the pouring rain and dashed back inside the mansion. We walked into the dining room where the desserts were.
I got a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and Joey got some chocolate chip cookies. I looked around.
"Joey, where is everyone?"
"Dancing", Joey replied.
"That means that we have the entire room to ourselves", I said. Joey smiled and yelled "Food fight!" as he threw a mini marshmallow at me.
"Won't we get in trouble for making a mess", I asked.
"No because John won't know that we made the mess", Joey said.
"Traitor", I said under my breath. He threw another mini marshmallow at me and I threw a strawberry at him, but he dodged it.
"I want to eat my cookies", Joey said.
"Then eat your cookies. Here's a marshmallow to go along with that", I said and threw a marshmallow at him.
"Ugghh", Joey sighed. We ate our desserts and then Joey asked me a question.
"Want to go and dance?"
"Sure", I said. We walked into the dance room and started dancing.
"Ashli, I need to go and talk to John for a second", Joey told me. "Ok, I'll wait here", I said. "Thanks", Joey said and walked out of the room.
I went and sat in a chair in the corner of the room. I looked down at my dress which was soaking wet, my arms were covered by Joey's tuxedo jacket and my hair was damp. In no time, Joey was back.
"Where is everyone going. It seems like every room that we go in, everyone leaves", I said.
"Oh, they're all outside because it stopped raining", Joey replied. He grabbed my hand and we kept dancing alone until Joey asked me to come outside onto the balcony, just outside two double glass doors across the room.
"Ashli, can I tell you something", Joey asked. "Anything", I said. Joey took a deep breath.
"Ashli, I love you. If we wouldn't have met at the bar, I don't know what I would be doing right now. You have opened my eyes and shown me that you aren't like other girls. You are the most amazing, beautiful girl that I have ever met", Joey said. I felt a tear run down my cheek.
"Look below", Joey said. I turned around and seen everyone on the lawn looking up at us.
"Uh, Joey, they're looking up at us", I said through my teeth. I turned around and seen Joey on one knee, holding open a red velvet box.
"Ashli, will you marry me?"
