Youth,
What a fleeting construct,
on top of the world,
But only for now,
An immortal in a world of the tired and old,
Never understood,
They will never know,
The drugs you've taken,
The nights you would rather forget,
The way the weight of the world feels so much heavier,
Under the weight of their words,
Living a life of antonyms,
Touch me,
Leave me alone,
Save me,
Forsake me,
Never knowing what you want,
Only wanting to drown out the pain,
The old bottles,
Stolen from your parents liquor cabinets,
Taste like teenage mistakes,
You thrive on the taste,
Live for the high,
Yelling "FUCK IT" at the stars,
Whilst hanging out the back of cars,
The world is yours,
Who needs education,
when you got weed,
Who needs rules,
When all the fun comes from breaking them,
The ever fleeting point of growing up,
Pains you like pencil led,
Embedded in your skin,
You have to face it eventually,
That your youth has run out,
And you have to face reality.
