After Kousei let me get some of the shit off my chest, we had a pretty great time just laughing and cuddling. It felt really good to sort out my feelings. We eventually decided it was a good time for me to take my leave so he escorted me to the door.

"Thank you," I expressed when we were on his porch.

"For what?" he asked, looking genuinely confused.

"For listening to my problems and making me feel better." His face immediately lit up in a huge smile. He leaned down to give me a quick peck on the cheek.

"Of course. In all honesty, you lifted my spirits a bit too," he laughed.

To this, I smiled. "I'm glad. Bye, Kousei."

He enveloped me in a loving embrace, bidding me goodbye, before reentering his home. I turned to leave but was met with a sulking figure standing in the middle of the quiet street.

"Tsubaki!" I yelped in surprise. Her face was shielded by her fringe but I could tell she was hurt.

"Can you believe it?" Her voice was soft but I could still hear her holding back tears.

I took a few cautious steps toward her. "Believe what, Tsu-chan?" I tried a nickname. I was standing directly in front of her now, and she looked absolutely devastated.

"This is the second time. The second...," she trailed off. This isn't what I wanted.

"What are you talking about?" I tried to keep my tone gentle as to not hurt her any further.

"Kaori. Kaori-chan... and now you. You both had Kousei's love. But not me. He doesn't love me."

"Tsubaki, Kousei does love you! Just... not in the same way." Her tears were flowing freely now.

"Yeah, I know. I should be grateful to be his friend. It's greedy of me to want more. And if it makes him happy..." She looked up at me and beamed. She beamed. "I'm glad he finally found some one worthy of his love."

"Tsu-chan...." I encased her in an abnormally tight hug, letting some leftover tears spill onto her shoulder as she did the same.

We just sat there, gripping onto each other like we were the last things on earth. I'm overjoyed to have Tsubaki as a friend.

I peaked out my window to make sure (y/n) was making her way home safely. I saw her and Tsubaki hugging in the middle of the street and immediately closed the blinds. Girls.
