I thought it was exciting. Take part in a robbery. It would take place on Friday evening. At ten o'clock I had to provide a distraction. I was already thinking about a good distraction. There were so many ways. So I decided to think of something at the moment it went down, for now then.
Everything in Star Labs went quietly, Barry was more and partially away to save the city and his job. It began to stand out that he was too late in a crime scene that he was late in submitting things. He had learned to plan better things. Even though Barry had promised me to be more cautious, it did gnaw at me anyway.
Yet I continued to feel useless in the lab. The only thing that I did all day was a few examinations, hanging the electrician out and cleaning things. There never was anything exciting. I was busy looking for something else to fill my time with. Because I had to used my powers at least once a day or I would go crazy.
Working with the Flash was fun and so, but as sidekick a little less. I made it my personal goal to go on a mission to day. I could fight, was handy with the bow and arrow and with even more weapons. Anything but a gun, I could not allow myself to use one. It was the fastest way to disable someone and I like a challenge. On the one hand, I also thought it was one of the cowardly weapons you could choose, because if you do not get out, you shoot someone, that's not how it works.
Every time I asked Barry to propose help, he refused. Every time he said either ''It's too dangerous.'' or ''I do not want you to get hurt." It was meant well and all but I could really take care of myself.
Barry sat idly in his chair in thought. There were hundreds of things going through his mind, but I kept myself out of it. I left him with his thoughts, I could not have his thoughts going through mine as well. Yet I had to interrupt him. In an attempt to get my breathing normal, I concentrated on the clock. Every five seconds in and every five seconds out. With full confidence, I walked to Barry. "Hey." I tapped him on his knee. He blinked a few times before he was back to earth. "Hi." He smiled. It was one of those smiles that I had always liked. And more and more fell in love with.
I hit myself internally, keep your head at Y/N. There is no time for romance in this game. Before you know it, you go away again and leave him behind with a broken heart. I sighed deeply and put on a fake smile. "What do you say to get help on the next mission?" I tried to ask it as nonchalantly as possible. With a dubious look, he thought for a moment. "I can ask Cisco if he wants to come but I don't think so, considering he still has to train a lot." I clenched my jaw. "That's not quite what I meant, Bar." Again I looked at him and he still did not understand the hint.
I glanced my fists and then relaxed them again. ''Me. I'm talking about me. I can help you. " I pointed to myself to make it even clearer. He chuckled. "Don't be ridiculous, you're always helping me, from behind the monitor." He still hadn't figured it out by now. "I'm talking about the mission, Barry, I can help you fight." My voice skipped but luckily he didn't notice. Abruptly he stood up and stood in front of me in a second.
"Don't think so." He looked like a parent. "I can take care of myself, I have trained for years in martial arts." I put my hands on my hips. Shaking his head, he looked at his feet. "No." He looked at me briefly. "It is not going to happen." He pointed at me and looked sternly out of his eyes. "Why not?" I challenged him. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. I raised an eyebrow and asked again. ''Why. Not.'' I asked between breaks and this time louder.
Suddenly he became very quiet, what he told me came out almost as a whisper. "Because I don't want to lose you, therefore not." He did not dare to look at me and I was completely disconcerted. For a good three minutes, I didn't know what to say. '' Barry,'' I walked over to him and forced him to look at me by carefully grasping his chin and pushing my way. "That will never happen." Tears were in his eyes but he didn't give in. He nodded quietly. I took his cheek in my hand. Not quite knowing how to respond to this, he put his hand on mine.
