It was now the best time to tell them, after what they have seen today. It would be a lot to take in, but better now than never. ''Gideon, please call the others to the bridge.'' I stood up and made my way there while Gideon called the others.
When entering the bridge I saw that Rip and Sara were already there. ''You called for a meeting? What do we owe the pleaser?'' Asked Rip intrigued. ''There are some things I want to clear out. Especially after the last mission.'' Both Sara and Rip raised an eyebrow. ''It was no coincidence.'' Was all I said for now.
One by one the crew walked in whit a questioning look on their faces. Ray was as always cheerful and came walking in with a bright smiles playing on his lips. ''Another mission?'' He asked looking at Rip. ''No, Mister Palmer.'' Answered Rip his question.
Right behind Dr. Marten, Jefferson came walking in, he looked tired and I might have woken him from a nap. Mick and Leonard where as always fashionably late. ''What is this for now.'' Mick muttered. ''Now now, Mick. Maybe it is important.'' Said Leonard as he gave his friend a shoulder pat.
Now that we were all present, I welcomed them all. ''Thank you all for coming, there are some things that I want to clear out.'' Everyone looked at me with a puzzled expression. ''The last mission we had was no coincidence. Vandal planned that to get to me. Because if I wouldn't be on the team or alive at all, maybe then he would succeed with dominating this world.'' I waited a second to let them take in the information.
Sara was the first one to respond. ''Oke, but why the power plant?'' Apparently every one had the same question by the sound of the emerging mumbling. ''It is where I was born. My mother gave birth to me while the power plant exploded, unfortunately I was a still born baby. The radiation is what brought me to live.'' I looked around the room. ''How is that even possible?'' asked Dr. Martin, who couldn't find a logical explanation for it. ''Neither can I.'' I tolled him, even for me it was a mystery.
I also explained once more my actions from when I lived in Central City. ''Maybe I never should have accepted the job offer from Leonard, but at that time I needed a little action and if it meant robbing a bank, then sure.'' Ray looked at me then at Leonard and then back at me. ''You two worked together before?'' He seemed reprised. ''Yes, even after he kidnapped me a week or so prier.'' Now that I had mentioned it, it seemed strange. ''He did what?'' Ray added. ''Maybe a story for another time.'' Said Leonard, who clearly didn't want to be reminded of that time.
We kept talking until something targeted the ship. ''Rip? What was that, I thought we were cloaked.'' I said as I tried to keep myself standing. ''We are.'' Replied Rip with mild panic in his voice. ''Gideon, status report.'' Commanded Rip. ''That was a thermite grenade. It seems like someone is trying to breach the hull.'' Reported Gideon back to us.
Someone from outside was trying to make its way inside. A person in heavy armer, what looked like a man, was shooting at the ship. ''His name is Chronos, he is a temporal bounty hunter.'' The ship was now under heavy fire, the cloak we used to keep hidden was now tearing.
We needed to get out of here as soon as possible. ''Gideon, set corse to the Temporal zone.'' Without answer the ship took of and a second later we were in a green surrounding. The same one where we've been a couple times before. We should be save here for now.
We were all trying to keep standing. ''Why is he attacking us?'' Asked Jefferson. ''I think the captain can answer that query.'' All eyes were fixated on Rip. ''Well.'' said Mick, demanding an answer. ''His name is Chronos and he works for the council of Time Masters.'' he fell silent for a second after continuing. ''My former employees.''
