I left 2017 and Central City far behind me. This time I went forward in time, I didn't care where I ended up as long if I was far away from 2017. With a hard landing, I came down to the ground. The world looked so different from what I was used to. Chaos and fire filled the streets. People ran in panic in search of shelter. Shots were released and lives were lost.
As quickly as I could I changed into the Ghost, so I could better protect myself and the people around me. On my guard, I explored the streets. Helped where necessary and fought back against evil. Far to the left of me I heard a woman calling for help. Many men and agents ran into the woman's direction but didn't help her. I ran to the woman and asked what was going on. Even before the question left my mouth I saw the problem. She laid buried under a wall of what had previously been a house.
She looked at me in a brooding way. She was happy but also afraid to see me. "Don't worry, I'm here to help." I held out my hands to show that I meant it. Slowly she nodded. "Okey, I trust you." It felt like a load fell off my shoulders when she said that.
With my telekinesis, I took the rubble away from her. The wall was heavy but it didn't bother me at all. It was clear that her legs were broken. With my one arm, I held up the wall and with my other I pulled the woman away from where she lay. She screamed in pain. Without thinking about the consequences, I dropped the wall and gave all my attention to the woman, she needed immediate medical help or she didn't made it.
I knelt beside her and straightened her legs as gently as possible. I was not a doctor, but I knew that at least three bones had been shattered and that she had lost too much blood. Screaming in pain, she buried her hands in the rubble and bolted her back. I put my hands on her shoulders and pushed her back to the ground. "I want you to lay still, it only takes a minute." She dressed herself and did what I asked her.
Again, I knelt beside her legs and put my hands an inch above it. I closed my eyes and focused on her breathing. Tried to get a picture of her skeleton and all the muscles and blood vessels that belonged to it. When I had a picture of her injuries I began to heal her, my hands gave a faint blue light and a circle of fire arose around us.
In a few minutes, I felt the bones heal and fall back to their original place. Her breathing became very fast but quickly went back to normal. I took my hands away and looked at the woman, she quietly sat up and looked at me with admiration. "Thank you, how can I ever pay you back?" I helped her get up and looked around me. ''By bringing yourself to safety and taking as many people as possible with you.'' She nodded hurriedly and ran the other way. I looked at her for a moment and saw that she already took three others with her to safety.
My search continued. I tried to explore the streets unseen, but that didn't last long. A man in black clothes and a rugged appearance looked at me growling. "Who are you?" He had his gun pointed at me. I held up my arms. He was clearly impatient and pulled out the safety mechanism from his rifle. "I asked you something." Threatening, he stepped forward.
I said to the man with caution, my answers. "I am not from here. What is going on?" He apparently didn't want me to answer his question in part with another question. "I want a name." He spat out. "I asked you something first." He was not the only one who wanted information. He was not going to give me that information and pulled the trigger, before the bullet could even leave the barrel I sent it back and its rifle exploded. Stunned and blinded by my action, he fell to the floor. Before he could take his position again I disappeared from sight.
I reappeared a few blocks away. Never in all my existence had I seen a war like this.
For what seemed like hours I wandered through what had once been neighborhoods, districts where families lived and children played across the street. Nothing was left of all that. Everything lay on debris and depraved in heaps of ashes. Before I was suspected, a car exploded right next to me. I was blown away by the blast. With a bang, I banged against a remaining wall. Groaning, I landed on the ground, quickly got up again and looked at the damage. Fortunately, I was unharmed but two others were less fortunate. The two were dressed in the same type of clothing as the first man met earlier.
