A/N I AM SO SORRY AGAIN! I have been incredibly busy with everything: school, home life, school, my friends, SCHOOL! I haven't had any time to write.

This story is almost done. *Shiver* I can't believe its made it this far. Thank you all for being patient with me! :)

“You chose me? What the hell does that mean?” I asked. Emotions were raging inside of me as I struggled to come to terms with what I knew. I wanted to hate him so badly, it would be so easy, but he was also the general and I cared too much to just give up.

“You are the one who will lead our race to victory. It has been written, woven so carefully into the fabric of the universe, it has become history. It is legend in all civilizations so that every species knows the story of Violet Grace. You are the only one who can lead us because I have made it so. Now, you will be upgraded and complete the prophecy.”

My mind was racing with possibilities. He had used time travel to write my name across history. He made the prophecy as he saw fit and ensured we would follow through with it. He’s played us since the beginning in one giant game of chess that we couldn’t control. This was his final move in a game against time.

Before I had a chance to respond, the cyber men beside me clamped their hands on my shoulders and heaved me to my feet. Distantly, I heard the shouts of my friends as I was dragged to the back of the room.

When I saw the table, my heart dropped. It was too close to the torture table they had forced me onto in Rio. Machines meant to poke and pry into my mind until I was nothing but a shell of a human surrounded this one.

The process was difficult to describe. I don’t remember much, but it hurt like hell and terrified me more than anything in my entire life. As their metal machines slunk into my veins and tore apart my brain, I felt myself slipping away. Everything that made me human was gone. I was a machine, nothing more.

When they were done, the creatures stepped back from my motionless form. After minutes of death-like silence, I felt my body lifting slowly until I was standing.

Being a cyber man felt as though I was trapped inside cement. Every motion, every action was impossible. It was still my brain, but everything else was gone. I was confined inside my mind whist my body betrayed me.

“She has been upgraded. She will rule us now.” The General said.

My body led me over to the throne once more. I felt my face expressionless, the blinking metal contraption clinging to the side of my face.

“What are you feeling, girl?” The General asked.

“A cyber man does not feel.” A voice replied, coming from my lips. It was not my voice. My voice was not that cruel, that cold. It was the voice of one of them.

"What is your purpose?” He asked, as close to excited as a cyber man could get.

“To rule the cyber men and take over this tiny universe.” I responded in a voice that wasn’t my voice.

As if to prove it, I turned to the first human near me, a middle-aged man standing protectively in front of his children, and pulled him aside. With one thought, a pulse travelled through me and into his neck. He screamed and struggled until he fell still in my arms.

Without a single grimace, I threw his body on the ground, ignoring the screams of his children.

This was merely my physical body’s response. Inside, I was screaming and crying and begging anyone to make it stop. The guilt hurt too much. I couldn’t breathe. It was choking me. I killed him. I’m a murderer. How could I live with myself?

“Perfect.” The General said. “She’s perfect.”

I took no notice of his compliments. All I could do was stare blankly at the people in front of me. Inside, I begged one of them to help me, to free me from this cage.

“Your first act as leader must prove your total dedication to our cause. There must be no hesitation, no remorse. Once you have done this, the prophecy will be completed.”

I knew what he was going to demand just before he said it. There was no time to build up any resistance, no time to do anything, really. Inside, I was hysterical. Outside, I was expressionless.

“You must kill The Doctor.”

The cyber part of me didn’t even hesitate. I pulled the gun from around my shoulder and pointed it at his chest.

I watched his hearts break through his eyes. Inside, mine was breaking too.
