14. 'An Evening With Me'

Sonakshi walked out of the mall and waited at the curb for a taxi. As she kept walking on the sidewalk, she spotted Samaira stepping out of a bank. An excited Sonakshi ran towards her sister, "Samaira! Tu yahan kya kar rahi hai?"

"Sonakshi tu?" Samaira glanced at her shopping bags, "O...Ho....shopping....kiske liye? Aaj se pehle toh tujhey shopping karte dekha nahin....can I see? Main bhi toh dekhun hone waale jiju ke liye kya khareeda hai?" Samaira tried to snatch the bags from her sister's hands.

Sonakshi gave her a stern look, "Samaira! Tub hi na......yeh jiju jiju kya lagaa rakha hai?"

"So I am right....haina?" Samaira tried to peep inside the bags.

Sonakshi's phone rang at that moment, "Pia? Kahan hai tu? Hospital? Main abhi aati hoon!" A frightened Sonakshi handed her bags to Samaira, "please yeh bags apne saath ghar le jaana.....I need to go and see Pia....uska accident ho gaya hai."

Samaira took the bags, "tu chinta mat kar Sonakshi...go attend to your friend.....I will take these bags with me when I go home in the evening."

Sonakshi hailed a taxi and rushed off to City Hospital.

Samaira got back to the office dangling the shopping bags on her shoulder. Dev saw her walk to her cabin with the bags. He recognized the bags from the department store, but was amazed to see that she had changed up from her churidaar suit to a skirt and top that quickly, "how does she manage to do that? I hope someone can tell her that she looks so nice in those Indian clothes... does she like to tease me in these western outfits?"

Samaira waved at him and flashed a big smile. She was still on a high after her date with Rehaan last night. She was amazed that Dev was so skilled at disguising himself so well- his personality, mannerisms, gait, looks all changed so drastically when he was 'Rehaan.'

Dev was pleased that she was back to her bubbly self despite the yelling he gave her yesterday. This was the first time he had ever apologized to an employee after getting upset at them; he was glad he had called her at home that morning to say sorry. He did not want the other employees to know that he had taken her out to lunch and then called her at home to apologize- that would be too embarrassing for him. He walked up to Samaira, "hi Sonakshi! How are you?"

Samaira smiled again, "I am fine....tum...I mean aap kaise hain SIR?" she winked at him. Dev was a little startled at the wink, "*cough*cough* well....main bas yeh kehne aaya tha ki kal jo bhi hua wo sirf hamare beech mein hi rehna chaahiye....understand?"

Samaira rolled her tongue, "of course sir...I remember the rules....no personal talk....aur aapki secret sirf main hi jaanti hoon......don't worry, no one will ever know that we went out together," she was of course referring to her date with Rehaan, whereas Dev was still referring to their lunch at the Chinese restaurant.

"Thanks! You know yeh meri reputation ka sawaal hai," Dev scanned his eyes all around to make sure no one was listening.
"Aapki reputation ka mujhey poora khayal hai sir!" Samaira grinned and came closer, "after all you are the boss!"

Dev nodded his head and walked back to his office.

Sonakshi reached the hospital to find Pia in a cast, "are you OK Pia?"

"Main bilkul theek hoon...bas ek chota sa fracture hai," Pia limped out of the exam room, "chal mujhey ghar le chal."

Sonakshi helped Pia into the car and drove to her house.
