The sisters hugged each other and wiped each other's tears.

"Dekhoon toh sahi, tu sari mein kaisi lag rahi hai?" Sonakshi stepped back and admired her sister.

"You were right, Dev loved it!" Samaira lied and looked away, hiding her tears from Sonakshi.

"Meri baat maanegi, toh dekhna Dev hamesha aisa hi rahega" Sonakshi smiled and was happy for Samaira, "and Samaira....I am really sorry I could not make it for the ceremony.......dadi ko drop karte karte der ho gayi mujhe."

"You should be....you missed a fabulous singing performance by your beloved sister," Samaira replied sarcastically.

Sonakshi was stunned, "matlab?"

Samaira walked into the bathroom to change up; she looked back and said, "apne would be husband ki request main bhala kaise mana kar sakti thi? Looks like Dev really wants a wife who can sing!" she shut the door, leaving an aghast Sonakshi behind the door.

Sonakshi stood frozen till Samaira walked back into the room, "Isn't it strange, that both Rehaan and Dev like women who can sing? Isn't it a strange coincidence Sonakshi?" Samaira's sarcastic words pierced Sonakshi conscience once again.

Sonakshi remained silent and just said softly, "Good Night Samaira.....congratulations once again."

Samaira smirked and shook her head, 'Sonakshi.....main ek din tumse sach bulwaa kar hi rahoongi.... kab tak mujhse jhooth bolti rahogi," Samaira said to herself and wiped her tears. That night, Samaira barely slept a wink. She had expected that she would be up all night after her engagement; the excitement would give her insomnia, but ironically it was the most painful night of her life.

Samaira had never been a person to mull over events in her life; she was a positive person and believed in action rather than words and tears, but tonight she could not think clearly, her tears had soaked her pillow cover as she stifled her sobs so Sonakshi could not hear them even though they were just a few feet apart. Why did it seem to Samaira that those few feet between the sisters were the widest few feet they had ever had between them? Samaira thought, "Sonakshi, hum dono maa ki womb se hi ek doosre ke itne paas the, par aaj kya hum mein itni doori aa gayi hai, ki hum ek doosre ko apne dil ke baat bataane se darr rahe hain?"

Samaira felt really sorry for Dev that night. His suffering and helplessness were far more agonizing than what the sisters were going through. Poor guy was not even aware of his true self all these years; he had lived a split life for so long that even his emotions and feelings were not his own any longer. Samaira was aware of how much Rehaan loved Sonakshi, and she was sure somewhere inside Dev, Rehaan was still alive and the only reason he still lived in Dev's heart was because of Sonakshi. Dev's mind might be split but his heart was still one and it only recognized Sonakshi. Samaira was just an illusion of his eyes, and that is why he never came close to her....she craved to be kissed or hugged by him, but the Rehaan in Dev would not allow him to do so...........maybe this is called true love......aaj agar Prithvi ne mujhey hint nahin di hoti toh mujhe kabhi pataa nahin chalta ki unke beech kya relation hai...kaash meri behen ne bhi mujhpar thoda trust kiya hota aur mujhe sach bataa deti, toh aaj mujhey yeh jhoothi ring toh nahin pehen ni hoti," Samaira looked at her ring and slipped it off. She kept it in her dresser and tried to shut her eyes to get some sleep.
