Learning To Feel Again

Chapter 19

3 Months Later

"Alex! Will you get up already? We need to go get lunch. I'm so hungry I could die" Asher wins through the door of our bedroom. Yes, I did say our bedroom. Since Asher won our bet I had to move in with him and I have no complaints either. Although he does leave the shower water cold. 

"Shut up you baby! Need I remind you who is eight months pregnant here?" I yell as I pull myself out of bed. 

"I'll give you something to whine about miss Price, now get ready. Our reservations are in an hour or so!"

I walk to our beige bathroom and begin stripping my clothes off. I hope into the walk-in shower and put the water on warm. How surprising? It's not cold, I laugh to myself. I wash with the pineapple body wash I bought and it really brings the tropical vibes to my brain. How I wish to be on the beach. 

I finish my shower rather quickly and dry off as soon as I get out. I leave my hair wet and just put some beach waves spray into my wet locks. I throw on a bikini-strapped dress. The dress was long and white. It had flowers all over it and really gave off those spring vibes. This dress is my favorite because it really compliments my baby bump and Asher loved it!

I put on beige flats and my gold watch, along with my locket. No matter what I will always wear this locket. 

"Alex are you ready?" Asher walks into the bedroom with a dramatic facial expression on. 

"Yes you impatient boy"

"I'm no boy. I man" he bangs his chest, causing me to laugh. 

"You're weird but I like that so I can't complain" I walk towards him and give him a kiss. "Now let's go slow poke" I stick my tongue out at him.

We arrive at a big white building with a sign that read 'Butterfly Club' which is a member club. You know the kind of place for golfers and women to sip martinis? Yeah, that place.

"You wanted to eat here?"

"Obviously" he laughs getting out of the car. He walks over and opens my door for me. I step out and embrace the cool breeze as it swipes over my face. 

"Well it is beautiful" I smile and grab his hand. He lifts my hand to his lips and gives it a kiss. 

"So are you angel"

"How did I get so lucky to have you" I hug him

"The same way I got so lucky to have you" he winks. 

We walk into the huge building and the inside was even more beautiful. It was very lavish. There was a sign in and there were already different room options. A bar, lounge, restaurant, and a game room. This place is amazing. 

Asher starts leading me over to the lounge area and before he takes me in there he whispers, "close your eyes" and I do as I'm told. He guides me into the room and then we suddenly stop. "I'll tell you when to open"

I feel his touch move away and I wait for his command. "Open" he tells me and as I do I hear a loud "Surprise" ring around me. 

I gasp as I take in the image in front of me. Mom, Haley, Lucas, and some other girls surrounding me. My eyes start to water at the wonderful surprise. "What are y'all doing here?" I question. 

"Well you can't have a baby without a baby shower silly" my mom came over and gave me a hug. I couldn't help the grin that took over my face. "You really are the best" I whisper to her. 

"And don't you forget it" she laughs. 

Haley walks up to me next and pulls me into her own embrace. "I hope you love it! We worked for months planning this" 

"Are you kidding? It's amazing" I assure her. 

"This is why you were rushing me" I look over at Asher. 

"Well, why else?" He laughs putting his arm around me. 

"Hey lovebirds! Let's get this started!" My mom and Haley yelled at the same time. 

"That's my cue," Asher said backing out of the room. "Let's go Lucas" he nods his head over to the door. 

Lucas walks over him and gives me hug as well. "Have fun donut" he pokes my cheek as he leaves. "I'm too happy to retort," I tell him. 

Mom and Haley both take hold of a hand and drag me to the couch in the front of the room. There was a table to my left that had a cake on it with a bunch of other goodies. In the middle of the room sat a coffee table in front of the couch which held a bunch of presents. 

This is truly amazing, I thought. I never thought my life would be this great! 

We sat down and then the talking began. Numerous questions and comments ran through the air as I tried to find which one to answer. 

"Let's start with gifts" My mom hands me a pink box with a yellow bow. "This is from your dad," she told me. 

I open the box and inside were a bunch of bibs and clothes that said "I love grandpa" and I laughed. "This looks like something he would get" I laugh as mom agrees. 

I began opening presents, one by one, and I truly have the best friends and family. They traveled all the way here to celebrate the life in my tummy. It truly was a dream come true. 

At the end of the gifts, I ended up with thousands of diapers (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit), bottles, toys, a stroller, bibs, clothes, and a bunch of pink things. I'm not complaining but pink needs to stop being so popular for girls. 

"You ready for food?" Haley rubs my tummy. "I am ac-"

"Not you" she cuts me off. I laugh as I realize she was talking to her niece. 

"You're a butt" I roll my eyes at her. 

"Yeah? Well, you're a bigger butt" she laughs at how bad her comeback was. 

They bring me over a piece of the floral cake and it was heavenly. It was all lemony and delicious. 

After we ate we played games. The games were pin the penis on the daddy (I don't know where they came up with that), guess the baby food, dirty diapers, and baby bingo.  By the end of everything, I was exhausted. It was almost four and I was ready to go home. 

I text Asher that I'm almost ready and he told me he would be here in five. 

"Thank you all for this. It was truly amazing!" I thanked everyone and hugged them. I told mom and Haley I loved them before I left. Asher put everything in the car and was ready to go home as much as I was. 

"I have a feeling we are gonna pass out early" he yawns as he takes my hand into his. 

I wasn't able to reply because I was already dozing off.
