Learning To Feel Again

Chapter 13

1 Week Later(Graduation Day)

Today is the day, I, Alex Price graduate from high school. I've been going to school for 13 years and I'm finally going to graduate. And of course go to another school for four years, but that is life. And I already picked a college near here. It's called Blossom Community College and I plan to hopefully major in dance!

Along with graduation, I'm hoping that today will be the day Alex and I go all the way! I'm nervous but in a happy and anxious way. I love that man and I want to show him how much. I've been so lucky to have him in my life and as my boyfriend. 

I grab the lingerie I bought at VS the other day and put that on. I think I'm gonna be risky and just throw on my cap and gown instead of something over the silky piece underneath. My hair is already curled and my makeup is done so I set my cap on my head and go downstairs. 

"Dad I'm ready" I shout while looking at the time on my phone. "We have an hour until it starts! Let's get going already!" I walk into the living room and put my heels on. 

"Coming!" my dad shouts from the top of the stairs

"Well hurry up" I call back.

"I'm so nervous Haley. I don't think I can walk out there in front of all those people" I look over to my best friend with a frown hanging on my face.

"Well suck it up babe" she pats my back. "Because we're going out there right now" she gets up and follows the rest of the students. I put a hand on my locket and take a deep breathe and follow the other students out into our seats. 

The arena is full of on-lookers as we walk out. I look around for my family when I come in contact with fierce blue eyes. I smile at him and he smiles back with a wink. I can't wait until later. 

I silently giggle to myself as I take my seat. "Welcome class of 2017" my principal announces in front of a podium. "This is the day that starts the rest of your life" a murmur of shouts sound around me. 

"We will start this ceremony by giving out diplomas and then we will allow speeches" she finished and moved to the side. A hefty man walks to the podium and begins to call off the names of students. 

I sit silently until I hear my name get called. I can hear my best friend in the back shouting for me. I look towards the area Asher is sitting in an see them standing up and clapping for me. I walk across the stage and grab my diploma while I shake a few people's hand. 

I take my seat and wait for this to be over. I got what I need; now I need to party!

"Will the class of 2017 please rise" the principal said as she raised her hands. "Congratulations!" she said as we all threw our caps in the air. It was honestly something out of a movie. 

I walk out of the area where we were sitting and run into Haley's arms. "We did it girl! We fucking did it" I exclaim as we embrace each other. 

"I know! I can't believe it, but we are now free of that place. Next stop Blossom!" Oh and did I mention she was coming with?

"Where is my hug?" Lucas laughs at us. We look at each other and then run into his arms and do a little turn. I'm so happy in this moment. I never thought my life would be good again. 

I pull away from my friends, "Well this is my goodbye, but I will see y'all tomorrow" I wave to them as I walk to the entrance. 

I walk out the doors that people are still flooding out of. I look around for my group and I don't see them anywhere. All of a sudden I'm picked up and twirled around from behind. "I'm so proud of you Alex" Asher sets me down and gives me a kiss.
