Penny - Whoops

I pull away at the same time Talon does and feel my cheeks flare up red. Kayla and Will are stood, staring wide-eyed. 'I-I can explain!' I say, stammering.

They raise their eyebrows at the same time. I ship it so fucking hard. Waylah or Kill? Nah Waylah. That's got a nice ring to it— sorry, back to what's going on now.

'I can't wait to hear this one, huh?' Kayla grins, elbowing William. Will opens his mouth to reply, but the speaker system suddenly turns on.

'Penny Gadget and Talon Claw to reception, That's Penny Gadget and Talon Claw to reception.' I wince, someone must have found out.

I look at talon who has the same facial expression, a mix of shock and embarrassment. 'Y'all should probably change.' Kayla says, more awkwardly this time, before pulling Will out of the room with her.

Talon opens his mouth to speak, but I glare at him and turn around, walking back into the girls section behind the showers. I hear a sigh, and it hurts me to know my crush is upset but I don't know, the kiss felt so right but I know it was so wrong.

I pull on my uniform, and squeeze my hair dry. No time to blow dry it now. I pull it into a bun on top of my head and tie a band around it, before shoving my stuff into my locker. I take a deep breath, and walk out into the corridors.

-At Reception-

I walk up to the front desk and see the back of Talon's head as he saunters out of the school. That's odd, I think. Why would he be leaving in the middle of the day... oh no. Was he expelled? Am I gonna get expelled?!

I breathe out a sigh of relief as I see Chief Quimby smiling at me. Not getting expelled.

'Well Penny, I've signed you out because you have a mission.' He informs me. I nod, shocked. 'Am I allowed to leave for missions?' I ask.

'Only if the Chief of your agency approves, and I'm the Chief and I approve.' He replies formally. I smile and nod. He hands me a mission ball, and I press a blue button on it to read the mission info.

'MAD wants to hijack the President of America's private plane, and kidnap the President. You need to stop them, capture Talon and bring the President to safety. This message will self-destruct.' The holo-Chief on the mission ball tells me.

I nod, and press the button again disabling the self-destruct before handing it back to the Chief who lets out a sigh of relief.

'The gadgetmobile is parked outside, good luck and stay safe.' He tells me with a reassuring smile. I return the smile before pushing open the double doors and walking out to my Uncle's vehicle.
