Penny - Let's Show Them We Are Better

I scream so loudly as a purple blur smashes through my window. 'What the fuck Talon?!' I yell in shock. 'No time to explain just listen.' he says panicking. I raise my eyebrows. 'Go on...'

He takes a deep breath. 'There is a bomb in HQ we need to get everyone out. The President has given it a clear to go off in 25 minutes.' he says, shame in his eyes. My eyes widen and jaw drops.

'The hell Talon?!' I shout. I sit down at my desk and type in multiple security codes. My whole world freezes and the color drains from my face as I realize he's correct. 'Follow me.' I order, sprinting out of the room.

I can hear him sprinting after me as I push my way into the Chief's office. He looks at me in shock and glares at Talon. Quimby opens his mouth to speak but I silence him.

Talon pulls the Chief's chair away from his desk earning a slap and a growl. He doesn't retaliate, but I glare at the Chief before grabbing the speaker system microphone.

'Agents of HQ, this is Penny. I am calling an immediate evacuation, this is not a drill, and all agents are to leave the HQ now.' I command on the speakers. This message will be played in every room.

'Wait just one darn minute,' the Chief starts as I switch the system off. 'We're supposed to believe you? Just evacuate? And why is Claw's second in command here?' he questions in frustration.

'I'm not here for a fight Quimby.' Talon says, putting his hands up defensively. The Chief rolls his eyes, and I subtly switch the speaker systems on again, just in case any agents need confirmation that this is legit.

'And why should I trust you, Talon?' the Chief asks, taking a menacing step towards him. 'Why do you care about the HQ?' he practically spits at Talon. Talon looks at me in desperation, and I shrug - indicating he should say why.

He sighs. 'I-I don't think I want to be evil... and if this is how to be good then I'm all for it.' he admits. The Chief seems to process his answer, but the truth is I can see the honesty in Talon's eyes, and I can here the genuineity (tf is that word) in his eyes.

The Chief nods. 'I'll make sure everyone is out of the building.' he says firmly before running out of the room.

Talon starts to run to the door as well, but I grab his wrist. 'Huh?' he starts in confusion. I shake my head. 'I'm not just letting HQ blow up.' I say softly. His shoulder sag. 'Take me to the bomb.' I order, and he shakes his head. 'No Penny, I'm going to get you out of here safe.' he replies firmly.

'Talon look at me.' I command, cupping my hands around his chin and pulling his head in my direction so close that I can feel his hot breath on my face. I look him deep into the eyes. 'If we go down, then we go down together.' I remind him, and a smile breaks through on his face. 'We'll get away with everything.' he replies. 'Let's show them we are better.' I finish, my grin matching his, going from ear to ear. He nods and sprints out of the room, pulling up a blueprint of HQ on his bracer. I follow him.
