He heard the laughters inside the kitchen.

"Martelle! Mabuti at gising ka na! Your father cooked breakfast for us. Come here, join us."

They were silent while eating at nabasag lang nang umimik ang papa niya.

"Martelle, kamusta ang pag-aaral mo anak?" His father asked him smiling but you can see he's nervous.

Tipid na nagkibit-balikat si Martelle. Ayaw niyang magsalita and his father seemed to notice it kaya hindi na rin ito umimik. The whole table was set in silence again.

Dinala niya ito sa sink and excused his self.

Sabado ngayon at napag-isipan niya na maggala though he's not into it. Ayaw niya lang talagang mag-stay sa bahay. He wanted to stroll around pero paano? Saan siya pupunta at anong gagawin niya?

At the end, Martelle decided to text Denver that he will come over to his house.

He's ready to leave when a baritone voice called him. He turned around and saw his father smiling at him pero kakaiba ang ngiti nito. Nasasaktan siya sa nakikita. He badly wants to forgive his father but there's something stopping him from doing that.

"Saan ka pupunta, anak?" Anak. He missed that word.

Nag-iwas ng tingin si Martelle avoiding his father's gaze, he focused his attention on his shoes.

"Pupunta po ako sa kaibigan ko." He can see his father nodding.

"Sige, h'wag kang magpapagabi ha, ingat ka." He nodded and turned to leave.

Tunay ang sinabi ng ate niya, he also saw the pain, longing and love in those eyes. And he's hurt because kahit na anong pag-intindi ang gawin niya, his mind is blank and he can't forgive his father that easily and set aside what happened.

"Problem, dude?" Denver waited for his friend's response but he heard nothing kaya wala siyang nagawa kundi maglaro mag-isa and let his friend to think by himself.

"Denver." Martelle called out. Lumingon naman ang binata and paused the game.

"Bakit?"

"Can you live without the sun?" Martelle then asked him another question again.

"What if biglang mawala ang araw at hayaan kang mag-isa sa dilim kung kailan kailangan mo ng liwanag niya, magagalit ka ba sa araw?"

Nag-alinlangan ang kaibigan kung sasagot o hindi. Hindi niya kasi maintindihan ang kaibigan. He's in deep thoughts right now and he knew that he has a problem.

"I don't know--- I mean, I don't know the whole story why he left me. I have this belief that you can't make a judgment if you don't know the whole story." He shrugged his shoulder at napaisip. "Yes and no. There's a chance na pwede akong magalit sa kaniya since I'm a human and I cannot stand my belief forever and possibly no, kung makakapagpaliwanag sa akin nang maayos si 'sun'."

"That's all we need to hear, the reasons without lies."

He frowned and bent his head down.

And what would happen to you? You will live in darkness because you refused to give the sun another chance to tell you his reasons."

"Ngayon ikaw naman ang tatanungin ko, can you live without the sun?" Hindi nakasagot si Martelle as he started analysing every word.

Can I live without the sun? Can I live without light guiding me up?

Martelle stood up and tapped Denver's shoulder.

Yes, to forgive is not easy but if you will open up your mind for their reasons and open up your heart for another chance, hindi mo mamamalayan na napatawad mo na pala siya.
