Illuminated in the light, bouncing off the exit signs I missed

Jacob is an alpha now.
After we left Bella's, we had a pack meeting. Sam said that we were going to have to attack my sister and the Cullen's. I refused. Sam got pissed and he tried to attack me (we were in wolf form) which set Jake off. They fought it out and Jake broke away from the pack. He was the real alpha to start with but now, he actually has his own pack... if you consider the two of us a pack.

That was yesterday. Today we're at school, I finally transferred back to La Push high school and it's our first day of junior year.

Jake and I are at my locker when we smell another wolf. He immediately pushes me behind him.

"You realize that I am also a shifter, right?" I ask him.

He doesn't reply and growls lowly when Seth walks up to us.

"Hey guys," Seth says awkwardly, "can I talk to you for a second?"

"What Seth?" Jake snaps, instinctively reaching behind him and putting a hand on me.

"If it's okay with you... I want to join your pack. I can't attack Bella." He says, looking at the ground.

"Yes!" I scream, breaking away from Jake and hugging Seth.

"Really?" He says, breaking into a smile.

Jake's demeanor softens and he smiles, "Of course."

"Thank you!" He says ecstatically, "You won't regret it! Also..."

"Also?" Jake says, raising an eyebrow.

"Quil, Embry, and Leah want to join." Seth says.

"Yes, of course they can join." Jake smiles softly.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" Seth says, hugging us both, "I got to go tell everyone!"

and with that he runs off.

I frown when I think about Paul. He's my best friend, I don't know why he wouldn't join us. I understand Jared not joining, neither Jake or I are really friends with him but Paul?

"Are you okay baby?" Jake asks.

"I just don't know why Paul didn't join us... I know you don't like him but he was there for me through everything and now, I might have to hurt him if Sam decides to go after Bella." I tell him sadly.

Jake sighs, knowing there's nothing he can say to make this better, "How about we ditch today?"

"Really?"
