Chapter Eleven
Scarlett's POV
"Honey, I'm home," I call out when I walk through the door.
"Shut up, Scarlett, I'm busy," Nate snaps at me from the kitchen. I flinch at the harshness of his words.
"Sorry," I whisper, not sure if he hears me or not.
Quietly, I walk to our room and put my purse down. Knowing that Nate is in his office, I start to pack some of my clothes. I was going to meet Matt later and slowly start dropping off my stuff. Hopefully Nate won't notice.
Since it is closer to the summer, I put some of my winter clothes into an old suitcase that I know Nate won't notice missing. I put some of my favorite sweaters and a few long sleeve shirts and jeans in. Along with all my cashmere scarfs.
With the suitcase full, I zip it up and sneak it out to the car. As I quietly try to renter the house, I come face to face with Nate.
"What were you doing back out there," he questions in a clipped tone.
"I-I-I umm, I w-wa-was, I forgot so-so-something," I stammer out. Fear instantly paralyzing me.
"Like what?"
"Umm, my purse, but then I remembered that I had brought inside." I lie.
He looks at me thoughtfully for a minute. "Whatever, you forgetful bitch. I'm going out. I won't be home till late tomorrow," he grabs his jacket, "don't do anything stupid." His eyes narrow in on mine at the last part.
I look away. "Of course not."
He brushes past me, "Georgia needs to be picked up."
I nod. He doesn't say anything more as he walks out the front door and slams it shut. I flinch at the sound.
After I hear his car roar to life and tear out of the driveway and onto the road, I wait a few minutes before grabbing my keys and heading to Matt's.

Matt's POV
I pace my living room impatiently.
Where is she? Did Nate find out? Did he hurt her? What about Georgia? Is my baby girl safe?
The questions wouldn't stop flowing to my brain. I am making myself go mad.
I take in a deep breath as I hear a car pull up.
Could it be her?
Dear god, please let it be her.
Rushing to the door, I yank it open. When I see Scarlett's hair pop out from behind the car, I let go of my breath.
She's here.
And she's not harmed.
I run towards her. She sees me running towards her and drops her bags and sprints towards me. As we meet in the middle, it's like a scene from her favorite movie, The Notebook. She runs and jumps into my arms, wrapping her slender legs around my body. I hold her tight, wishing I never had to let her go.
She pulls back and looks me in the eye. For what seems like eternity, we just stare at each other, lovingly. Slowly, she leans in, seeming somewhat hesitant. I make the decision for us and I lean the rest of the way in, capturing her lips with mine.
As we pull apart, smiles both take hold of our faces. "You're here," I say, in a whisper.
"Of course," she breathes, "there's no place I'd rather be."
Setting her down, I grab the suitcase and lead her inside. We go up the stairs and into the master bedroom.
As we enter, she gasps. "Oh my, I've never seen a bedroom quiet as gorgeous as this." Her eyes scan the entire bedroom. They rest on one picture. The picture of us, from prom. We were dancing, staring lovingly into each other's eye. Not a care in the world, because at that very moment, we were invincible. Nothing could tear us apart.
"You like it?" I ask, breaking us both out of our trance.
"Do I like it? I love it!" she turns around and flings her arms around me.
"Good," I kiss her lips tenderly. "Now I want to show you Georgia's room."
Scarlett nods her head and follows me out into the hallway.
A few rooms down, I have chosen the perfect room for her. It overlooks the paddock that her beloved pony, Archie is in. Her walls are a sky blue color with a gorgeous blue and white paisley pattern on the comforter for her bed.
Scarlett gasps again, "Georgia is going to absolutely love this room."
"You think so?" I ask her nervously.
She turns back to me, "I know so."
Suddenly, she kisses me passionately. I haven't felt so alive in so long. I grip her tighter, my hands roaming her back side. Our lips fight for dominance as our tongues became entwined together.
This is how it is supposed to be, between us.
When we pull away, her eyes instantly start searching mine. "What is it, my dear?" I ask, concern etching my voice.
She takes a deep breath, "Can I bring Georgia here on Friday. I want her out of harms way when I officially leave Nate."
I cup her face in my hands. "Of course, I will just tell Nate that she is needed at the barn in preparation for the show this weekend and that she'll be spending the night at one of the girls. Does she know yet? About me?"
She shakes her head, "Not yet, but I plan on telling her when I bring her here. Tomorrow I will have some of her clothes brought over, sound good?"
"Sounds good," I say, my lips capturing hers, once again.

Sorry for another long wait. I know I'm not publishing as much as I said I would. But y'all haven't met my English teacher. No joke, she is satan's mistress. Like we have only two days of school left, she's the only class I have to go to and she still gives us homework every night. And not the easy kind of homework either. I hate her.
But anywho, thanks for reading! Hopefully, I'll be publishing more once finals and school is over. Keep your fingers crossed and keep holding on.
Which, speaking of 'Keep Holding On', check out my best friend, LexieT123, her book Keep Holding On. It's perfect! And amazing! And any other adjectives that describe perfection! So check it out and her other books too!
