Chapter Ten
Matt's POV
I watch her walk away from me, again. But this time...this time a different feeling came over me. It wasn't a feeling of heartbreak or desertion or anything like that. No, it is a feeling of relief, happiness, excitement.
She is getting away from that abusive bastard. And to make things better, she is coming back to me. She still loves me, and she never stopped. We can be a family now. A real family, who loves each other.
It was then, that the memory hit me. The memory that has haunted my dreams and me everyday since that fateful day.

"I'm sorry, Matt, but the feelings just aren't there anymore," she says, not looking me in the eye. I instantly know something is up, from the way she's biting her lip and blinking furiously. I know she's trying not to cry
I look at her, incredulous, "What are you saying, babe? What do you mean? Is it something I did?" I walk towards her and cup her face in my hands.
I can tell she's hiding something from me. All of this is so out of character of her. Why isn't she telling me the truth? I can't let her do this to me, to us. "You did nothing. I just don't love you anymore." The world seems to stop moving as she bites out the last sentence. What? How does she just wake up and decide she doesn't love me anymore? After everything we've been through. It's not possible. It can't. It just can't.
"Please," my voice breaks, "don't do this."
She looks away. I know she still loves me, I can tell she can't stand seeing me like this. My heart is breaking. No, scratch that. My heart is shattering into a million sharp and pointy pieces. The kind of pieces that are impossible to pick up. It was always supposed to be me and her. Together, forever. Until the end.
"I know you don't want to do this," I try. I was on the verge of tears. What, that's wrong. I never cry, so how can I be on the verge of tears?
"I do. I found someone else. He makes me happier than you do. I'm sorry, but I cheated on you with him." She bites out at me, a coldness to her voice that I had never heard from her before. She isn't a cold, heartless person. Something had to have happened. It just had to.
Silence fills the air. I look at her, shocked. I could feel my heart literally breaking. I wish she wasn't doing this. This isn't part of our plan. A single tear falls from my eye.
Without waiting for a reply from me, not that I could manage one at the moment, she turns and walks away from me. From us.
Her steps echo throughout the room. I just watch her go. My biggest regret is not trying to stop her. I just watch, in a stunned, heartbroken silence.
Just as she reaches the door and opens it, I call out to her, causing her to stop. "I'll always love you Scarlett. You'll always be the only one for me. Now and forever."
She hesitates at the sound of my words. I know that they still mean something to her. I know she's struggling with something. But she didn't turn around. She didn't stop. She didn't close the door. She didn't come running back to me. She didn't say 'I love you' back.
No, she just sighs and pushes open the door, not once looking back at me.
9 Months Later...
"Hey, Matt," a seductive voice whispers in my ear.
A smirk comes to my lips as I spin around to face her. "Hey, Maggie, wanna get out of her?" I motion to the show grounds.
A smile finds it's way onto her Botox face. "I think I know of somewhere we can go."
We are easily able to sneak out of the show grounds without getting caught by either of our trainers. I'll just take the verbal abuse tomorrow when I show up...if I show up.
"Where to?" I ask as I peel out onto the highway.
"My house," she, not so subtly, places her hand on my upper inner thigh, stroking Matt Jr., causing me to moan a bit. "We'll be there soon," she purrs.
I smirk again, perfect.
The minute we enter her house, we immediately head up to her room. Within minutes, all of our clothes are thrown across the room.
She runs her fingers up and down my back, as I gently suck and nibble on her neck. Slowly, I enter Matt Jr. into her. After she adjusts to my length, I start thrusting. "Oh Matt!" she moans, clawing my back. That'll definitely leave scratch marks.
I continue thrusting faster and faster, gently pulling her hair, causing her to moan even more. As I finish, I fall down beside her, both of us breathing pretty hard.
"Goodnight babe," she kisses me before turning out the light.
Inwardly, I groan. I hate nighttime. It always reminds me of her, of the late nights we had to sneak out. That and it's just the one time of the day where I'm not occupied enough to not think of her.
A single tear falls from my eye. I quickly bat it away.
After listening to Maggie's heavy breathing for a while, I quietly get dressed and leave her.
As I pull away from her house, my thoughts drift off towards Scarlett. Where is she now? Is she still riding? What is she doing? Is she dating anyone? God, I hope she's not dating anyone.

Present Day
As she walks out of sight, I smile. All I have to do is wait till Saturday. Then she's mine again.
Hopefully, that bastard, Nate, won't find out first.
