Chapter Twenty-Three
Nate's POV
3 Months Later
I dust myself off, and change into the spare clothes that a fellow inmate of mine had left for me when he got released. Slipping on the baseball hat and sunglasses, I sulk down the road, hoping I'm going in the right direction.
Glancing around as I walk, I look for any familiarity in my direction.
Maybe I shouldn't have slept on the way to prison. Oh well.
Finally, an hour later I spot a broken stop sign. Now that, I remember. For another few more minutes, I continue to walk straight ahead till I find a pay phone.
Keeping my face hidden, I call up my friend, the inmate who had been kind enough to get me these clothes.
"Hey, I'm here, where are you?" I snap into the phone.
"Around the corner," he huffs, just as I see a beaten down pickup truck come around the corner. I quickly climb in.
"Thanks, man," I say.
He just nods his head, he was never much of a talker.
"How long till we reach Samiopoúla?" I ask, breaking the tense silence.
"Two hours," is all he says, as we ride out the remainder of our trip in silence.

Two hours later, my friend's car is parked across from the inn. We slip out of the truck and across the street unnoticed.
My friend and I had had this planned out for a while. We have perfected every detail, just waiting for this moment to arrive.
He pushes open the door, and I see the little old woman. She never looks up as she asks, "What can I do for you?"
"One room please," my friend snaps.
Alessia, I think that's her name, jumps, startled by the harshness of his voice, and turns around.
Our eyes meet, and her face pales. Before she is even able to say a word, I pull out my gun and shoot her in the head. A quick and painless death.
I smirk, "That was easy."
My friend glares at me, "Why didn't you torture her? Have you grown weak since I've left?"
My smirk grows, "Nah, I'm just saving the main event for later. Now, I do believe we have a plane to catch to Miami."
I turn on my heel and walk out of the inn, my friend hot on my heels.
