I woke up today the same way I did yesterday. With a headache. It wasn't as bad as yesterday but it's still there. I managed to get home in one piece yesterday. That guy, Daniel I guess, did in fact follow me to the store. Actually, he was told directly by someone to follow me. And that someone was Alex, my own best friend.

"I'm sorry!" She cried a bit over dramatically but in a funny way. Her bright blue eyes looked like a sad puppy's and she had a fake upset face. It was her specialty playing the dramatic damsel.

"My gay senses were tingling and since you ran away I couldn't pass up the opportunity to tell him where you would be after school!" She said quickly. I mentally face palmed and gave her a look.

"How did you even know where I was going?" I asked her. I don't remember telling her I was heading to the store yesterday. She sighed and gave me a 'are you serious right now' look.

"You go to the store every other Thursday, Caleb. I can't believe you haven't noticed this and you're the one doing it!" Do I? Well, now that I think about it I do go to the store quite often. But my mom works a lot and she doesn't have time. Except on the weekends.

But even then, she cleans the house on Saturday and then is too tired to do anything else Sunday. So, I do most things on Sunday when she's at home going through papers from work. I go to the store, get household items we need, and maybe some groceries if we need some.

"Caleb!" Alex stomped her foot. I gave her a questionable gaze. "You blanked out again. We have to go to class." She said. I looked at my watch and realized the first bell rang a minute ago. How come I didn't hear it?

When I got to my first hour class all the girls were crowding over my desk. Which, made it difficult to even get to in the first place.

"Uh excuse me ladies but this is my- Oh." Well, now I know why my desk is so popular this morning. A dark haired, hazel eyed boy was sitting in my desk. And that boy with a face like Adonis is none other than the boy who followed me to the store yesterday. I stood there in shock and all the girls that were hovering over him just a second ago are now staring at me. That stupid smile I learned of spread across his lips when he saw me.

"Hey pinkie." He looked between his new found seat and myself. "This is your desk? Sorry I thought it was an empty one." He got up from the desk and made a motion with his hands letting me know it was free. I shuffled over to the desk and plopped my stuff onto the hard surface. The bell rang and everyone dispersed and scrambled to their seats. Daniel took the empty seat right behind mine. I don't know why he didn't just take that one in the first place.

I also don't remember him being in this class yesterday. My first hour is history. Second hour is math, third gym, fourth home economics, fifth english, and then I have a free period sixth since I don't have to take science this year. I got above average scores on a state science test and was offered to move to another school with an elite science class but I didn't want to leave everyone I knew behind. So I just skipped science this year.

When I have a free period I usually spend it in the library writing in my journal. It isn't like a diary though, it's more of an advice log. Something I lend out to people that need my help with relationships or understanding their own feelings. It helps a lot and I add to it when I have the free time.

"Good morning class!" The teacher, Ms. Lenda walked in.

She had short brown hair that was always messy with curls. She always wears these goofy circle glasses. She is a very energetic teacher that likes to stay engaged with the class. She's in her mid 30's but she looks super young. One of my favorite teachers. Probably my only favorite teacher.

"Today we are going to be starting a new unit!" She states as she picks up a marker and writes something on the board. "We're going to be learning about the greek gods!" She says and jumps a little bit.

"We are going to be reading about one god each day for the next few weeks. There is going to be a presentation at the end of the unit about 2 gods of your choosing that you favor most. We are not going to be learning about the demigods in too much detail but if you are curious you can do your own research in your free time. This project will, of course, be assigned with partners." The class started whispering to each other at the mention of partners. "Of my choosing!" The teacher said quickly as she pushed up her glasses. The whole class groaned.

Ms. Lenda is very strict about assignments getting done so she likes to choose our partners. It's rare that we get to choose our own. She is a very kind woman though. She just wants everybody to get a good grade.

"Marie and Joseph? You two are partners." She says. The whole class whispers among themselves about who they think they're going to get paired up with this time. I just sigh quietly and wait for my name to be called. I don't mind who I get partnered with. I know almost everyone.

"Darren and David... ah! Caleb and Daniel." I looked at Ms. Lenda with wide eyes. She just gave me a soft smile and continued pairing people up.

I turned around to face Daniel just to find a coy smile tracing his lips.

"Hey there, pinky." He says lowly. "I guess we're partners." He leans towards me and that smile slowly turns into a smirk. I take a nervous gulp but nothing went down. "Lookin' forward to working with you, Mr. Matchmaker."

I made a little 'hmph' sound and quickly turned the other way to hide my face behind my hands, embarrassed. How crude. I know I said I didn't mind who I got, but being with him is going to be a bit more difficult than I anticipated.
