"The ball was dropped but recovered by the Angels extraordinary Daniel Dach as he runs it into the end zone for a beautiful touchdown!" The annotator screamed as the whole supporting half of the bleachers went wild.
I stood up with Alex, cheering our team on, but mostly Daniel in particular. Things are going good for us in the first quarter. We're at 12-6 so far. Two undefeated teams playing each other has some high tension. And for the tension being so high, CCA isn't doing very well.
"Stronger than steel, hotter than the sun; Dach won't stop, 'till he gets the job done!" The cheer squad chanted. I nearly spit my drink out while Alex laughed hysterically. Daniel caught the ball as they finished their cheer, and ran down the field once more. I stood up and cheered once again.
I can't help but feel excited for him. Although, I've seen some of the opposing team mates try some dirty tricks in the past. It worries me.

Daniel's PoV
As we went back into formation, I saw a glimpse of Dericks face. His eyes locked with mine for a split second, enough to put a feeling of disgust in my stomach. He hasn't been playing good all game. It should be half time after this play. For some reason, I kept glancing over towards him. Each time our eyes would lock, scowl spreading farther across his face each time.
"Ready!"
"Set!"
"Hike!"
The ball soared in front of me; I reached out and caught it, tucking it away in my arms.
Bodies from the opposing team charged at me, I dodged them all, sprinting towards my goal. The field was open, the crowd cheering my name as I jumped into the end goal, making a third touchdown for the Angels in the first half. I looked at the clock. 00:34.
"Daniel! You son of a gun you ran like a bat outta hell!"
"Daniel you're our star player!"
The score is 18-6. We're on a roll. Adrenaline is coursing through my body every second I'm on the field. We got back into formation for the last play of the courter, but the air felt different. My eyes drifted towards Derick again. Our gazes met and I saw him bring his thumb up to his neck in a sort of threatening cutting motion.
As soon as I looked away, the ball had been passed into my arms. I ran down the field, dodging everyone in my way, or so I thought. On the fourth down, I suddenly felt a foreign weight grab hold of my waist, on the way down to the grass, I saw my helmet bounce in the opposite direction of where I plummeted. I heard blood rush through my ears; throbbing, overwriting the shocked screams from the crowd.
My vision is blurry, faces appear in front of me, but before I can make out and focus on who they are, my eyelids slide shut engulfing me into an empty nightmare.

Calebs PoV
I couldn't believe my eyes. The person who I just witnessed minutes before, running up and down the field like a gazelle just got shot down by a ravenous hunter. My stomach twisted like it had just ingested rat poison. It was like a movie scene playing out in front of me, slow motion and all. Before I knew what I was doing, I was running down the steps of the bleachers towards the spot on the field where the 'accident' occurred. There was already an ambulance on the grass near the mob of people on the site.
I pushed through the mob of people to see Daniel lying on the ground, nearly lifeless. I tried going over to where he was, staying out of the way of the paramedics who were checking his eyes, pulse, and head area for injury. Tears poured out of my eyes like a broken faucet, the warmth of the watery substance tingling my cold stained cheeks. I searched the crowd and glared at the guy who head budded Daniel.
