Caleb's POV

When I walked down the hall, I saw student council putting up posters advertising the upcoming game against CCA Devils. I want to know how he has been, but I haven't seen him around since I saw him in the library that day. The game is only one day away. Tomorrow night. The school has been buzzing with excitement, and the team has been training for it since it was put in the schedule almost a month ago.

Since Daniel isn't by my side, I've been floating around by myself. Mindlessly. My journal was my sanity in a way. Now that I've lost my salvation, I don't have much of a rebound. I see Alex glance at me once in a while, but then her attention is taken away again by Peter when he notices. It hurts my heart. I've been getting here an hour early or so, and I think it's to avoid everyone. I haven't been doing it on purpose, just subconsciously.

Suddenly, I hear a whole bunch of yelling and thuds from down the hall. I make my way over to see whats happening, but I'm only greeted with a mob blocking my view. I hate tall people. I shove past them and break through to see Daniel and Jerry punching and kicking each other like no tomorrow.

"I KNOW IT WAS YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" I heard Daniel growl. Jerry threw another punch, hitting Danny square in the jaw.

"I AIN'T DONE SHIT MATE, WATCH WHO YOU TALK TO!"

"CUT IT OUT!" I heard a female voice cut in. Everyone went silent and brought their attention to the petite Japanese girl. "Daniel fucking Dach. I've about had it with your shit." Alex stomped towards Daniel, shoving him off of Jerry. "What the hell is your problem? 聞き取れない?"

"My problem?" Daniel questioned back. "You think I have a problem? How fucking blind are you?" I went up behind Daniel and poked his side to get his attention and make him stop, but my plan faltered.

Alex scoffed and shook her head in disbelief. "No wonder you got kicked out of your old school." Alex shot. I could feel the heat from Daniel's body rise just by being near him.

"I didn't get kicked out, I dropped out." Daniel snarled in a tone that had everyone taken aback. "I dropped out because I had beliefs that got discrimination. I had a lifestyle that got hate every single day. And you're letting it happen to someone you love as a brother!" I felt my stomach bounce. Oh god.

Daniel went behind me and unzipped my backpack to pull something out all in one quick motion. He tossed my journal at Alex, who caught it sloppily. "What's this supposed to prove?" Alex questioned, annoyed.

"Open it." Daniel demanded, impatiently. I glanced over at Peter to see nervousness doom over his complexion. Alex sighed, and flipped open my journal. Her eyes were narrow at first, but when she realized what she was looking at, they softened and became sad. She looked at me with a sorrowful apologetic gaze, like a lost puppy who just stole some bread. Daniel suddenly snatched the journal away from Alex and held it up for the crowd of people to see.

"This is what happens to your community Cupid when he doesn't get the love he deserves." Daniel shouted. He looked at me, and I couldn't say anything. I was shocked. I felt tears prick at my eyes.

"Office! All of you!" I heard someone yell. I looked over and saw it was one of the secretaries from the office. The bell rang a few moments earlier, and I guess everyone was too distracted by the event that had just unfolded to notice or act on it. Oops.

So, here I am. Sitting in one of the uncomfortable office chairs awkwardly next to Alex. Daniel is in the principals office right now while Jerry and Peter are in the councilors office. Sitting next to a person that I love so much, yet have become so estranged from takes a toll on my heart. Silence weighs heavy in the air while neither of us have any sort of idea what to say. It feels like there is a concrete pillar between us, but we don't have enough fight left in us to break it down.

I hear a faint sigh come from her. Curious, I look to see tears running down her cheeks, staining them black from her mascara. She looked directly at me with such remorse I could feel my heart break even more for my best friend. "Caleb, I am so sorry." She cried. "Daniel told me everything on our way here. I should have known something was wrong. 私は非常にばかです." Alex struggles to wipe her tears away with her sleeves, so I got up and grabbed a tissue box from a desk.

This means she must know everything about Peter... oh.. god... my stomach.

"I think I'm going to be sick."
