Selena's POV

Justin and I have been living next door to me for as long as I can remember and we've been close ever since then. I could tell him anything and he'd tell me great advice. He was a great listener.

He's one of those nice neighbours that check up on you everyday to see how your day was and to make sure you're living the best possible life. We were just meant to cross paths. We clicked straight away and we soon developed an unbreakable bond. He's my best friend and right now, I couldn't be happier.

Have you ever been just met someone that makes you smile whenever you see them? Justin makes me smile even when I'm at school and I'm so stressed about completing all the work.

Most days, we are on the phone to each other for hours. Justin would stay up late, waiting for me to call him and I'd fall asleep in mid conversation and we'd laugh about it the next day.

I would walk up to him in class and steal his stuff just so I have a chance to talk to him. He's such a blessing to my life and I'd be lost with out him.

After several years of knowing each other, we met Demi who came to the school due to winning a scholarship to study here. We soon introduced ourselves and welcomed her to the group. We were the kind of people who didn't stand out among the crowd but we didn't care since being popular wasn't me. I have never liked being the centre of attention. That seems too stressful and just throught of being popula makes me cringe. Being popular comes with a big reputation that you have to live by and that just comes with a lot of stress that I don't need in my life.

The three of us have been hanging out since. we do everything together. I see Justin everyday and when I'm not with him I'll be chilling with Demi. We're all really close and it's a friendship that most people want to last a lifetime.

Demi had just finished her latest assignment at school which was to write a full 10 page essay on plants. I felt sorry for her having to go through it but she did it. Fortunately, I had finished all my assignments early and could finally relax for a while or so I thought...

It was holidays now. The time to make new memories and have the time of your life before going back to school for another year of hard work and tonnes of drama.

I lay down on my bed staring up at the ceiling for a few minutes, just taking a few deep breathes when suddenly I heard someone tapping on a window. It was Justin.

I looked to the left of me where my large tainted window was and smiled as I saw my best friend. Breathlessly already, I walked over to the window, opened it, then laughed as he pulled a funny face. He always seemed to make me laugh no matter what he did. He was just as goofy as I was and I admired that about him. I could be myself when I was with him.

"Hey you!" I shouted over to him. He was standing by his window in his house looking at me with this cheesy smile. That smile.

"Hey." He replied. I covered my face into my shoulder. I was wearing a plain green hoodie which belonged to Justin. The thing I love most about being best friends with a boy is that I can steal all their hoodies and the fact that they are oversized is one of the many reasons why us girls love wearing a boys' hoody.

Justin climbed out of his window and swung across to my window using the branch of a tree which divided us. He didn't hesitate to embrace me even though I only saw him yesterday.

"There's that smile I know and love." He said. He held back a laugh as I nudged up against something hard on his chest. He squinted his eyes and sighed. "Ah you got me. It was a surprise but-" He handed me a small package and I smiled.
