The Conference

As soon as we arrive to the police office, I'm thrown into a cell, open for anyone to be able to see what I'm up to. A man tells me to stand, so he can search me. He grabs all the small knives from my pockets and sets them on a tray, which is taken to the outside of the cell. I sit and lean back, placing my right leg over my left leg. Watching as they try to figure out who I am.

"What's your name?" Says Jim Gordon, who seems to be the one investigating me.

I look him in the eye, and smile.

"My name?" I begin. "Why, that's The Purple Jester." I say, and stand, making a bowing gesture. "At your service." I finish.

He scoffs and has me taken from the cell and into an interrogation room. I sit on a cold metal chair.

I push my hair back, and lean back in the seat, resting my legs on the metal desk.

Gordon sits across from me, holding a cup of coffee.

"Now, let's begin shall we?" I say, smiling grimly at him.

He pushes his glasses back, and looks me in the eye.

"It seems we couldn't find you on file, we have no records of your identification." He said.

"Oh, really?" I say, laughing.

"Just who the hell are you." He says. "Why in the world would a child like you need to be into such horrid business with The Joker. He's a fiend. He's turning you into one." He says.

"I'm just a normal teenager. Killing for fun, stealing, and hanging with my best buds. There's nothing wrong with The Joker, it's what's wrong with all of you. The government has all these schemes to try to capture us, and we're just having a little fun! I chose this life, I love this life. I was made for this path, and this path chose me. I may be a fiend, but at least I belong. The Joker didn't turn me into anything, I was born this way." I finish.

Gordon sighs, and stands up.

"We're going to have a guest speaker. Don't do anything irrational." He says, and leaves the room.

Once he leaves, his friend, and my foe, Batman enters.

I begin hysterically laughing.

"Oh, they sent YOU?!" I say, and almost fall from my chair, laughing so hard.

"Where's The Joker." Batman says.

"Pfft, you think I'll tell you? I'm not a snitch, bitch." I say.

Batman looks into my eyes.

Deeply.

He's silent, and it's although something clicks inside his brain.

He stands, and continues looking me in the eye.

"You..." He says.

I'm slightly confused, and I throw my hands up in the air.

"Do I have something on my fucking face!?" I yell.

"No, I just...I have to go." He says, and leaves the room.

"What the hell was that!? That was the all mighty Batman?!" I yell, angrily.

I laugh, and guards come in, taking me back to my cell.

-A few hours later-

I sit on the cold stool in the room, kicking my legs back and forth.

Waiting.

'When was the Joker going to come for me?'

I felt like I was waiting so long.

He was probably doing something important, he's a man who's always busy.

I heard a blood curdling scream come from a distant room in the jail.

Everyone went on their feet.

"Get down!" I heard, from a familar voice.

It was Joker!

I fell to the floor, and covered my head as an explosion eroded the area.

I gathered myself, and saw a figure from the smoke rise before me.

He had really come for me, as he said.

He held his hand out, and our gloved hands touched each other.

He pulled me and we ran outside of the building through a broken window.

"After them!" Said Gordon.

We ran far enough until we got to an old alley, where there was a black van waiting for us.

At the wheel, there was a man dressed in yellow.

I had never seen him before.

He grinned at me, as the two of us threw ourselves into the vehicle.

The man began driving, thrusting his foot onto the gas. We raced for what felt like hours, until we reached an apartment building. The Joker threw me two duffel bags, and the other man a few as well, and he led us to a stairwell going down. We quickly ran down, and we reached a room, and we quickly entered.

We set the bags down, and I took a look around. This must be the new place we're staying for the time being. I brushed my hair back, and went to reach into my boot for my knife.

It wasn't there.

Of course, they took it, and we forgot the retrieve it.

The Joker saw me looking for it, and walked over to me, handing me something. I looked up, to see my knife.

"I grabbed it while no one was paying attention." He said.

Something overcame me, and I threw myself at him, hugging with all my might.

He simply patted my head, and released himself from the hug.

"Heh, sorry." I say, embaressed.

I spot the man in yellow after the hug, he's laughing at me.

"Who the hell is this!?" I say, threatening the man with my knife.

"Why this is, Storm." The Joker says. "I met him hours before retrieving you." He finishes.

Storm looks me up and down, and winks at me.

"Well hello there." He says, walking towards me.

He goes to shake my hand, "Purple Jester, I presume?" He says.

My eyebrow raises at his suggestion, and I hesistantly shake his hand, as he pushes our hands up and down.

"It'll be such a pleasure to work with you." Storm says.

I laugh. "Ha! What makes you think that'll be fun." I say, thrusting my arm back to my side, and I sit, and beging wiping my knife off.

"Well, I have a feeling, you and I will become quite good friends." Storm says, siting next to me on the couch.

"Leave her alone Storm, she's obviously not into you." Joker says, laughing. I see Storm's face get gloomy.

"Whatever." He says, and walks away from me.

"Storm will be our new associate." Joker says.

I glare at him.

"You can't be serious." I say.

Storm grins widely, and bows in my direction.

"Welcome to hell." He says.
